To heck with Europe - send me to Lakehurst
Bloody hell Sal, I think half of my brain just died.
They are cute girls, but we're talking peaches here, not grapefruits.
(I hope BostonMaggie & Co are off shopping or whatever).
Do you think Admiral Dopehead would approve of my language?
Just trying to introduce some diversity in the comments.
In NJ, by law, only gas station attendants can pump gas. You can't pump yer own.
And those peaches are perfect.
You old heads.....those girls are young enough to be your daughters.
Someone needs to remix this video with Bruce Springsteen singing "Jersey Girl" in the background...
I guess I'm getting too old. What REALLY grabbed my attention was the price, $2.699 for regular!
I was about to say "Speak for yourself" until I did the math. Thank you for another nail in my mid-life-crisis coffin.
Potential future USNA graduates, no doubt. GOT to have that DIVERSITY! I mean, the Navy needs dumb people too, right? So it can "look like America!" Sign 'em up!
They'll be driving ships before you know it. Oh, wait...They already are.
In all fairness, New Jersey and Oregon are the only two states that REQUIRE a gas station attendent to pump the gas for their customers. I guess these girls have never needed to get gas outside of N.J.
Future senators from NJ and CNN/CBS info babes.
Still they did solve the problem. One girl's daily routine is another's adventure.
You get past the first ridge of the Appalachins or south of Delaware Bay, the girls are made of sterner stuff.
Salty: Granddaughters...
I could watch that video clip all day long...
The camera angle is suspiciously, though pleasantly high.
Greetings:
Pumping gas ??? Is there an app for that ???
I have been!
Eeeehhh. A full decade younger than my seabag.
Smart Sailors may take orders to Europe, but the smartest Sailors take orders to Japan.
And people wonder why we people from the south make fun of ya'll.
That has to be the dumbest law in history.
Het those girls are easily in my range ya'll old men back off...........however training is MUST.
You have to be smarter than the equipment you operate....
They're young enough to be a friend's daughter.
You're welcome.
Yes, yes, I know Submariner. You prefer yours long, hard and full of seamen, and that's just your fellow Sailors!

It is the law because it has powerful lobbyists who insist on it to provide work for gas station attendants, which drives up the cost of gasoline significantly. I heard it estimated at as much as twenty cents a gallon. Which would explain the prices.
You mean these prices?

Cheaper than New Hampsire, and 37 other states in the US. I suppose you could throw out Alaska and Hawaii, but that still makes NJ average prices cheaper than 35 states in CONUS including a few in the South.
I understand that averages don't tell the whole story, but I'm not sure non-self service in NJ is really as a signficant cost driver to the consumer as claimed.
Self-service in NJ is indeed a big cost driver. But not the only cost driver. Taxes, fees, and other revenue-generating customer soaks do their fair share. If the $$ went toward what they were originally intended for, there would be less complaining. But so much, including my state's, finds its way into "general fund" accounts.
Check out the state, county, and in some cases, city taxes on gasoline in those other states.
Twenty cents! EEEK!
Onerous state and federal taxes: $0.48/gallon
Silly NJ law requiring full service gas stations: $0.20/gallon
NJ girls who travel to NY and eventually have
to ask a no nonsense Marine for help in fillin' up: Priceless
Sounds like a pretty good law to me on balance.
Come on, those young ladies were not put on this planet to pump gas. Stick with what you know, and it appears their talents lie elsewhere.
URR, you owe me a new keyboard. I am right with you-had to watch it several times before I could reliably comment.
Good jiggly wiggly I'm old. Should watch it again to ensure I've gotten the message.
Silly NJ law, 20 cents on top of the 14.5 cent state gasoline tax, 7% state sales tax, and any county or city taxes charged.
So $3.00 gasoline becomes ~ $3.60 gasoline.
On top of higher turnpike and bridge tolls.
Yessirree. If you could guarantee me that young women that looked like this would be asking my help to pump gas, I might reconsider.
There are no guarantees in life but death and taxes. I'm sure we'd both be happy to help just about anyone at the gas station that found themselves be confounded by the technology. You're right of course, but the not everything has to be political. I just like that video. :-P
You rang?
Wait! You mean there was a point to the vid? i shut it off after "Wait??? Insert????"
Great now I have to go back and watch it
URR - I pump my own gas, check my own oil & other fluid levels. I also have a tire pressure gauge and know how to use the air pump.
This way I do not have to count on popping out of my top to take care of my vehicle.
Did I mention a AAA card?
Bastids! There was no Marine at the end of that video!
"<span>This way I do not have to count on popping out of my top to take care of my vehicle."</span>
Fine. Do it the hard way.
But there should have been. Not URR, but some young Marine to help bring these young ladies into the 20th century. It's a cry for attention. I prescribe a dose of USMC.
I will cop to being a Bastid. Thanks.
Gotta be a blonde joke in there somewhere....
With the sound off.
URR - Funny, I was expecting snark about what happened in New Hampshire.
I believe I saw three
I don't need to hear them talk.... 8-)
LMAO. Good one!
Maggie, you're on a roll!
