Sometimes a DivThu just writes itself. So it is this week.
Reminder of the home of the self-licking ice cream cone that is the (D)iversity industry.

Subject: INVITE: Washington Headquarters Services Focus Groups
Good Afternoon,
I hope you each had a happy fourth!
On behalf of WHS, the Office of Equal Employment Opportunity and Diversity (please note our new name!) is conducting focus groups to identify possible barriers to representation for our most severely underrepresented groups: Women, Hispanics/Latinos and Individuals with Disabilities. Mr. Brazis has signed the invitation letter (attached for your review) and schedule. Groups will be held for women, Hispanics/Latinos, Individuals with Disabilities and Managers and Supervisors at the Mark Center, Crystal City, the Pentagon, Ft. Meade and Hampton Roads from Tuesday, July 9 - Wednesday, August 7.
Please consider participating. The success of this effort is contingent upon participation. We need WHS and serviced components personnel to attend these focus group sessions and tell us what it is like to work here and what they see to be challenges to equal employment opportunity, hiring, retention, career development and promotions, particularly for our least represented groups.
Please disseminate to your contacts as well. The results of this project will absolutely support increased EEO and diversity initiatives and hopefully, result in an improved working environment for all.
Participants can register for the sessions by emailing Ms. Delmy [redacted] (delmy.[redacted].ctr@whs.mil) or myself (Pamela.[redacted].ctr@whs.mil).
Thank you in advance for your efforts at participating and distributing this announcement! We are especially pressed for participants to next week's sessions considering the short notice:

Tuesday, July 9
- 9-11 AM - Women
- 1-3 PM - Hispanics/Latinos
Thursday, July 11
- 9-11 AM - Individuals with Disabilities
- 1-3 PM - Managers and Supervisors
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Pamela

"It turns out that advancing equal opportunity and economic empowerment is both morally right and good economics, because discrimination, poverty and ignorance restrict growth, while investments in education, infrastructure and scientific and technological research increase it."
President Bill Clinton
Bill Clinton, of course - such a paragon of EEO.
Anyway - like the gig where you get paid to create work for other people who are paid to create work for you? Here is the job description; enjoy.
You can also take time for the instruction below. Seriously, treat yourself - read the above message again, then the description of the job, then the below. Especially those of you about to go on furlough. Bask in it.
