Diversity Thursday

I want you to ponder something for me. We can all agree that we must make sure that as a Navy at War - we must do all we can to support the warfighter - especially those who are coming back broken, or for those families who have made the ultimate sacrifice. Can we find common ground there at least?

Now, shouldn't we make sure our finite ADOS/ADSW dollars and funding, along with limited availability of 4105 Chaplain Corps Officers, are first spent attending to our Sailors and Marines needs in theater? Or perhaps attending to the needs of our thousands of wounded warriors?

What, pray tell - is more important than that? Of course, don't be silly. Warfighting priories are for the little people. First of all, everything must feed a 4-star's fetish.

Yea, and leave your conscience in a box.

Sad how the Chaplains, of all people, have been roped in to being active participants in discriminating on the basis of race, creed, color and national origin.

Where is their intellectual courage?

Silence is approval Chaplain. Form up.

Considering some chaplains and their religious views are discriminated against by Navy, this is hilariously ironic.  Also has passed from fetish to status of mental illness.

Some people can't be replaced too fast.

Perhaps we can find some chaplain who can do an exorcism and drive out this great "diversity" evil from our Navy?

Nah, probably not.

The Devil won this round, or the Administration, but I repeat myself.

Would this diversity in the Chaplain Corps include Pagan Priest/Priestesses and Satan worshipers?  They already recognize witches and warlocks in the Air Force, so we really are behind the curve.

a Space Marine  chaplain is on order...
As our bodies are armoured with Adamantium, our souls are protected with our loyalty. As our bolters are charged with death for the Emperor's enemies, our thoughts are charged with wisdom. As our ranks advance, so does our devotion, for are we not Space Marines? Are we not the chosen of the Emperor, his loyal servants unto death?

I suspect this is about race.

Which is sad, as there is a need for significantly more diversity in the Chaplain Corps - I speak of course of denominational diversity.  The Jewish Chaplains are overwhelmingly Orthodox, while the Jewish troops are not.  The Chaplains from the Roman Cathilic Church are well below the % of troops identifying with that tradition. Among non-RC Christian Chaplains, those identifying as Evangelical are a significantly higher % than the troops identifying as that tradition.  Liberty University established an on-line program to credential Chaplains about 7 years ago and today they have an incredibly high % of the Chaplain Corps (the also established their own endorsing agent - Liberty Baptist Fellowship for Church Planting, which may say something about how they see their calling).  A lot of the Mainline Protestant denominations are against the military (and hopefully sin, too), so we have no one to blame but ourselves that others have filled that void.

Chaplains, of course, are suppose to serve all of their troops, or find someone else who can - Protestant chaplains, for example, can't conduct a Catholic mass.

There is certainly need for diversity, but I suspect this is about bean-counting and one-drop rules.  Pity.

TUS,
The padres on my last deployment did make some accommodations for some folks that identified as pagans. They found ways to order out of the paste department budget for some artificates and made room on Sunday for them to worship. If I remember right the DoD has already ruled Satanic Worship against good order and discipline, so that religious sect is verbotten.

Care to expound on that statement?

When I was in Bahrain, one of the 5th Fleet chaplains had apparently performed an exorcism.  Not sure if it was as a civilian or as a military priest.  Just googled him and he's still in.

Slightly off subject but I though that the hands-down diversity madess of the week winner was the statement by the new USCG Academy commadant that her #1 issue under her watch will be increasing the diversity numbers.  More important than training a new generation of USCG cadets (or whatever they are called) apparently.

Any chaplain with any common sense would steer real wide of the diversity issue given past reported issues with certain denomnations and sects within dominations having preferential treatment in detailing and slection boards.

"All members are REMINDED to bring their orders to the airport"? That plus the 4-stars fetish makes this old squid's head spin. C'mon, really?

Was the exorcism on the training schedule?  Would love to see the reference and uniform.

You might want to chat with a Rabbi or Jewish Chaplin about that statement. The most recent comprehensive study of American Jews, in the middle of the last decade, showed that interfaith marriages among American Jews was around 50%, up from about 6% in the early 1950's.  Judiaism is not, by any stretch of the imgaination, homogenous. In the US, there are four main branches. Worth noting is that the branch that is growing the fastest, the Orthodox/Ultra Orthodox and their many sub-groups, is the most rigid in its prohibitions on inter-faith, and even inter-branch marriage. As for racial diversity, there are many Jews who are of African descent, as well as a very large Latino/South American Jewish population and even Asian Jews.

That being said, would I like my boys to marry within the faith or wed someone who will convert? Sure.  But it's no game-stopper; I just want them to be happy, no matter who they wed.

Went to pick my lovely wife up yesterday from her 2nd Echelon HQ and noticed that NETC had a "Diversity Fair" in progress at Pensacola.  I saw Disabled American Vets, Porch Creek Indians (with Casino profit Bus, and US Govt plates on it), Greek, Chinese, and Korean and German costumed folks.  I guess the Guest Speaker was LTGEN RET Honarie, (wonder how much his speaking fee was).

couple of take aways:
GS-11's spending countless hours "volunteering" to set up booth
Front row designated parking for the "Diverse"
Indians supporting Diversity on a Govt Reservation... wow what would Custer think?
Minority Gen Officer getting paid very nicely from a declining budget to be a guest speaker
"forced participation" of the staffs to go around and get "passports " stamped at each booth thus proving they were present....

lastly, I joined the Navy to see the world, hell I could have just went to the base...

in the imortal words of Spicolli, "Learn about Cuba, eat some food"

Did this bring ANY value to the warfighter in a declining budget?

Anyone who can quote Jeff Spicoli (despite the fact that the actor who played him grew up to be an industrial-strength moonbat) to show the idiocy of the Diverstiy Diktat deserves a "Like".  =-O

Let's see: Take an early tribal/cultural regional ethnic group and eject them, forceably, from the lands they settled, not once, but multiple times.  Wherever they settle, or try to settle, isolate them, persecute them, slaughter them, tell others that they are to blame for everything, including the death of the central figure in one of the world's major religions, assign them "special" taxes, deny them the right to own the lands they till, and every so often, try to wipe them off the face of the earth.  Oh, and the "civilized" lands where they do try and live in peace with their neighbors?  Have many of those neighbors surreptitously or overtly cooperate with those trying to slaughter that "special" group to sell them out.  Make sure to raise children to hate, loath and be suspicious of that ethno-religious group, as well.

Then, when they most often interact with only those they trust not to do those things, others from their own ethnic group, be sure to point out how "separate" they are and how they don't identify with the local culture and nation-state that's been so happy to oppress them. Yet, when you look dispassionately at European history, you see memebrs of that ethnic group work to better all those around them, and serve patriotically in the armed forces and governments of those very nations, generation after generation.
Just, wow.

it does amaze me the liberal almost self loating the American Jews must have for themselves when they vote for Obama.  I wonder if that voting block will change after he has consistently spit on Israel.  We shall see.

It isn't a Jewish Gene, but there has been some very interesting stuff found about the Cohen Modal Haplotype - a specific genetic marker appears very frequently in the Kohanim, and in interesting places geographically (Great Zimbabwe!?!).  Makes one wonder about the Lost Tribes.  More info here:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Y-chromosomal_Aaron

Can't, or don't know how? I seem to recall reading that chaplains are (or were) trained across dominations, so they could perform the rites of other sects.
