Smack dab in the center I am, and damned proud of it!
Intelligence - I hope I am
Social Ineptitude - I know I am
Obsession - It is friggin Naval blog!
Yep, dead center, ground zero of the nerd area.
I ... I'm actually OK with this characterization.
Yep, it was true back in the day and if the local B&N is any indication, it is still true today.
This is pretty darn funny.
Yah, I am smack in the middle, too. Just to make sure, I asked my wife who lovingly said, "Yes honey, you are definately a nerd."
I knew there was a reason I turned down that school when they offered it to me.
Engineers are pretty much of that type. Some are better socially than others. Obsessed, perhaps. Desirous of solving problems? You bet. that's why we have Engieners. Society would come to a stand still if it had no Engineers.
Every Engineer I've seen laughs at this one,

Of course, without Engineers, you wouldn't be reading this.
Reason 247 why I am glad I was in Naval Aviation. Biggest mistake the Navy ever made was sending me on a Nuke 1st class cruise in 1978. Working with nukes-going on liberty with A-7 pilots, the choice was a no-brainer.
I'm socially quite "ept" so that puts me squarely in the Geek category, though my children tell me I'm a dork. What do they know?
First, don't be a hater, CDR :)
Second, most nucs are clearly at the intersection of sets "Intelligence" and "Obsession", with some subset also exhibiting "social ineptitude", but far from all.
That makes most Nucs geeks, with about 25% nerds. Dorks inevitable fail out of Power School.
The KOG would put you in the closet for such an incomplete analysis!
