Since T-Paw left, I have not endorsed anyone else. I still haven't - and though earlier I poo-poo'd Gingrich, I now will grant you he needs to be looked at as a serious contender. Heck - if you are in the top-3 you have to be.
I still am not convinced that he won't be torn to shreds in a general election, but I will grant you this; he is a formidable statesman when he is on his game.
I will tip my hat to him for this reason if nothing else; I love when some MSM type gets their smug sneer wiped off.
Hey Pelley - the chubby guy from Georgia has your jock if you're looking for it.

He is getting the attention of some of the younger set... who like his common sense. That generation doesn't care so much about "baggage." Funny thing is, when a liberal dem has baggage, the press helps him carry it up the stairs and to his hotel room. When a Republican has baggage, it becomes a deal killer.
Never figured that one out. But Newt usually is among the smartest men in the room. A man who has come to realizations late in life, but still in time to change himself. I already have a pope. Don't need another one. I need a president who can fix my country. Since we were told a few years back that character "whatever that is" doesn't count... well, I'm watching Newt with great interest too.
I am amzed at how the Libtard media is trying to frame the debate against Obama by helping us "select" our candidate. appears to me that the left is in love with Romney because they really want him to be the choice to run against Obama. It nuetralizes the Obama care Deal. They are (libtard media) AFFRAID of Rep. Paul. Thus the only 84 seconds of air time on the debate and attempts to minimize his candidacy...
What part of the Constitution is so hard to understand?
Gingrich will wipe the floor with Obama in any debate setting.
Gingrich has an unfair advantage. He actually KNOWS things.
Pelley and the rest of the Left has an extremely good grip on overlooking the obvious. I am happy that Newt was there to point out the not so subtle difference between the rules regarding acts of war and those which govern criminal matters.
Gingrich had the guts to do the cutting side of 1990s budget balancing, while Clinton was doing the taxing side. Certainly a candidate worth consideration.
Plus, I loved his alternate history of Pearl Harbor and after. 8-)
I was being Facetious...

True, but irrelevant...
What happened after the two candidates took the stage is a familiar tale. Nixon, pale and underweight from a recent hospitalization, appeared sickly and sweaty, while Kennedy appeared calm and confident. As the story goes, those who listened to the debate on the radio thought Nixon had won. But those listeners were in the minority. By 1960, 88% of American households had televisions — up from just 11% the decade before. The number of viewers who tuned in to the debate has been estimated as high as 74 million, by the Nielsen of the day, Broadcast Magazine. Those that watched the debate on TV thought Kennedy was the clear winner.

You really shouldn't be amazed. The LSM/MSM foisted McCain on the GOP in 2008.</span>
Silly me - I thought debate moderators were supposed to be impartial.
I dont like Gingrich sitting on the same couch with Pelosi and then trying to tell us that Global warming is real..
Delicious!
It's like a cut today that turns gangrenous. Newt looks like the only adult at the table, and the press is perfectly content laying off of him--for now. Until he starts threatening Obama, and then the flood gates will open and every seedy thing that he did--and we know there are plenty--will come out.
As for killing American citizens, he lost me with that comment. Due Process does not mean a bunch of jerks sitting around a table deciding who will die. If he is an American citizen, then you have to prove that he renounced his citizenship and literally took up arms against the country; not just moving his mouth or tapping his keyboard.
Newt is intelligent, but seems to ignore the 2nd and 3rd order effects of what he says. Global Warming, anyone?
True, but he had the spine to admit publicly that doing so was a mistake.
Can you imagein Obama EVER admitting a mistake?
It's definitely NOT a good sign that you have to change your views so often. Obamba ruined your country in a mere 4 years and if the Right in America can't get their stuff together he's gonna get a pass to fuck up the rest in another 4 years. Just WHERE is the viable, spotless contender???
Has Gingrich disavowed that global warming nuttery advert he did with the left?
There is none. We recruit politicians the same place we do Admirals...the human race.
I notice Newts daughter recently spoke out regarding the infamous smear concerning the hospital visit wherein the Speaker supposedly told his dying wife he was dicorcing her....not exactly as as media morons for america would have you understand it.

I know. That tool was actually arguing with him. You could even hear him in the background saying basically, "nah ah." WTF?!
I don't think Gingrich has much to fear from someone who could be a cross between Urkel and Tuvok.
True, but Oh Blah Blah has not come up against someone like Newty newt. I suspect he will look like ol' Nance did when answering Kroft's question on the Washington practice of "insider trading."
Besides, if they want to truly air dirty laundry, we can start with drug usage, sexual experimentation, grades, was he disbarred, etc. The squishy middle is less forgiving this time. Many will hide behind the curtain and have to admit they made an ill informed decision last time and were duped by the media. Or, be ready for, as Chris Rock put it, "some gangsta $h!t."
Facts are racist, you h8er!
HAHAHA
AOD,
Ron Paul looks pretty adult to me.
Errrrrr. We are going to lose this election.
hmm Ron Paul is now tied for first ... hmm
maybe he will get more than 84 seconds next debate...
Oh, please. As if the media has that much power.
The '08 race was determined by the voters, our screwy primary system (explain to me again why the tiny population of Iowa & New Hampshire get to define the front-runner?), and the circular firing squad which pops up so frequently during GOP nominee runs.
Even then, McCain was steadily catching up with Obama in the polls (remember when Barry started complaining that Palin was ripping off his reformer theme?) until he sunk his own campaign by returning to DC in the middle of the campaign.
Yeah, but that was fifty years ago, and all the shiney newness of TV debate has worn off. Not to mention we have tanning beds now. :)
A) he backed of AGW, and B) apparently you weren't paying attention during his reply. Which part of "committing an act of war" is hard to understand?
This starting to remind me of the faux issue of waterboarding; lots of angst, despair, breast-beatings and clothes-tearing. Then it turned out the Bushies waterboared (what?) three high-value prisoners. Three. In eight years. That's it.
You're not paying attention. Yes, he has.
I still like Paul as Secretary of the Treasury. Imagine the panic when -on his first day in office- he uses the word "audit." The Fed would crap bricks. Heh.
Newt has some pretty big baggage...
His "firm" took 1.6 million in lobbyign fees for Freddie and Fannie.. Smells like Stimulus/porkulus lover to me.
He also stated he supports individual mandidate in Obama Care. I call that slavery and his beliefs are not in line with my principles.
He is arrogant and soft skinned.
I think his jabs at the "media" in the debates is a strawman so he can avoid answering the questions..
I dont care how smart he appears to be, I look at his character and I see a big govt, liar, in it for me politician. No thanks..
My conmplaint is that he has spent years trying to make big government work better - not make it smaller.
My complaint is that he has spent years trying to make big government more efficient - not smaller.
Indeed. In many ways, not much difference between "demicans" and "republicrats." They both like Big Government and they both like Big Business.
