... and it start with MORE HERMAN!
You know what Lawrence is trying to do, don't you? Amazing. I know what Herman went through in high school and college, my parents and grandparents told me from the white side.
It was a very different world than the one we are in now; and one Lawrence as a Boston Blue Blood has no concept of. What a nasty bit of work he is.
I think Herman handled it as well as anyone could without reaching through the camera and dotting his eye.
Hat tip RCP.
UPDATE: No, I can't get enough. Herman; from the top rope!

Mr. Cain should have Lawrence interview him everyday. What great sport.
The more I see of Mr. Cain, the better I like him.
Romney is okay, in a smarmy slick politician kind of way.
Perry is becoming damaged goods courtesy of the media, but that will be the inevitable fate of any Republican or conservative candidate.
If Cain gets the nomination, we will be told that his Cancer makes him too sick to elect. Lawrence is already trying to denigrate him in the eyes of the blacks. Somebody will dredge up or invent some ancient indiscretion(s).
I will crawl over broken glass to vote for any of them!
Mr. Cain fillets Lawrence Summers like a fat flounder.
Apparently Mr. Cain isn't black enough. And anyone who votes for him instead of Barack Obama hates black people. This, according to a filthy-rich white woman.
Draft-dodging Lawrence O'Donnell, who dodged the draft during the Vietnam War, is accusing somebody of dodging the draft during the Vietnam War? REALLY?
It'll be fun to see if Larry tries that shit with Perry.
Why is it only Republicans' service is questioned? Is it it a tacit admission that Republicans are supposed to be patriotic and should live up to that expectation? And Dems not so much?
Anyone who's listened to Neil Boortz knows that Herman Cain brings the heat. If he makes it through I'll vote for him. And if he gets Rubio to run as his VP, that would be a perfect world :)
If this were a conservative media figure interviewing say Keith Ellison, or John Conyers, or Maxine Waters, it would be likened to an attempted lynching. Lawrence O'Donnell is one of the most reprehensible personalities in the MSM. His hatred and contempt for Herman Cain (how dare he not be a member of the democrat party) showed through to his very core. I watched the entire interview and came away very impressed with Herman Cain's ability to remain civil even with an arrogant, lying a$$hole like Lawrence O'Donnell throwing hand grenades at him. There was no respect at all shown for Herman Cain. He is the only candidate in the race with a plan. Everybody else talks about a plan, but he is the only one who has a plan. Well, Ron Paul has a plan, but his foreign policy does not work for me - put him in charge of Treasury. Perry and Romney are more of the same ol' same 'ol.
Lawrence O'Donnell. Sorry.
Good, another reason why I like Herman Cain. And you're right, he is a capitallist. That means he actually did something to actually make a profit and employ a lot of people, unlike the career politicians ensconced in DC. Would make a refreshing change to have someone in there that actually has a clue what a budget is.
Fear of the people? Hahaha... he seems always to have his finger on the pulse of just what the American people want: red meat and lots of it.
Memo to Mr Cain:
Never say "brainwashed into". Say "laboring under the misapprehension that".
Much better marketing results will be observed.
I guess our Constitution writers "feared" the mob, too, which is why we have a republic instead of a direct democracy. Judging by most of the interviews of the "occupy" mob that I have seen, it's a very good thing, too.
Mr. O'Donnel, this survey of yours, where was it taken? At what time? Can you, in any way, even prove that this survey was, in fact, taken? Or did it come out of NBC's imagination.
You claim that a twitter question was from a black person. How do you confirm the provinance of the question as having actually coming from a black person, or was, in fact, an actual tweet, or one coming from your own newsroom? You offer no proof.
Whether Mr. Cain chose to march or not is irrelevant. He went to college, to learn, and be the best possible citzen of this country that he could be, race status irregardless. Race is really only important to people like you, Mr. O'Donnell, who can use it to divide, and break down.
Mr. O'Donnell, you question Mr. Cain's not serveing in Vietnam. He was getting a useful degree, and putting it to work. Tell me, Mr. O'Donnell, how much time did YOU spend up in I CORPS, in the Central Highlands, or on a Pibber during SEALORDS? Of course you weren't there. You were getting a JOURNALISM degree, and playing protester. What a truly nasty piece of work you are, Mr. O'Donnell. as Mark Levin would say, "GET OUT OF HERE".
hahaha... and that's Badger's GOOD COP line of questions.... lol.
Islamophobe?
Please.
Mohammedanism has been on the march since it's inception. Were it not for West initiating a defensive campaign to stop it, more commonly known as the Crusades, you'd be singing a diifferent tune altogether. Pity the West lost confidence in itself and the Faith all while the Mohammedans continue their conquest on Europe but with a very different tact. And I'm not talking about terrorism.
Israel ... Cantor ... of course .... it's the Jooooooosssssss.
A phoba is an unreasonable fear.
I do not unreasonably fear Islam, I reasonably detest it as I would any totalitarian ideology.
Yep, its starting, he's not black enough, no community organizing, how could any black person vote for Herman Cain? I do like Herman, but the 9,9,9 plan is not something we should be hoping for. Laurence is an ass, but who else are they gonna send in to filet the black conservative, it has to be a white Yankee, that way when the right is winning they can throw all the white north eastern libs under the bus too (they won't be liberal enough you see).
Give me Ron Paul, he's the only purely conservative guy out there (and I'm a total libertarian at heart)
What horsepooh!!
Now the push is to mythicize [sic] what REALLY happened in the South in the early '60's?!??!
I WAS THERE
Sure, I was asome years younger than Cain then, but not so young as to not remember...or not to be affected.
Like most civil conflicts, the Civil Rights struggle was not a full out war evoking images of Gemrnay in '45. There were a series of flash points -sensationalized in a new way with television- that occurred over a period of years. For the vast majority of people, both black and white, life went on pretty much as normal all the entire time. Really, the changes were occcurring in the broader context of the much wider cultural changes affecting all of society at the time.
Indeed, I very much remember "Miss Theresa", the maid whom mom left me with at times (squadron CO's wife at a time when there was an average of a class A accident a day in NAVAIR-she once remarked the coffins were always closed and light...so she was pretty busy in her own right) and who taught me how to catch snapping turtles for soup, had nothing good to say about "those agitiators".
She was proud of the fact that that her community -quoting here, as its stuck with me all these years- "ran Martin off"
Bet you won't hear vignettes like that from the idiots like O'Donnell....
I think Herman Cain is gay
Brilliant rebuttal to Mr. Cains fitness to serve as President! Did you think of that by yourself, or did you have help with the big words?
He seems pretty happy to me too.
Did I miss the part when O'Donnell asked about Vietnam? I though he was focusing on the civil rights demonstrations of the time.
As for the survey, it's quite possible that it exists, but I would love to see the crosstabs, and how the question was phrased. Makes a big difference.
Excuse me, but Ron Paul is no conservative, at least if you want to follow the Burke/Bastiat paradigm. If nothing else he's just this side of pure isolationist, and I'm not happy with anyone who claims we brought 9/11 on ourselves.
Wouldn't mind seeing him as Secretary of Treasury. That would be fun. :)
Cheerful, like.
Still not seeing anything to make me regret my decision to spend the first Tuesday in November watching Davy Crockett in some riverine/littoral ops c. 1810 or so; the classic "Davy Crockett and the River Pirates".
Argue, argue, argue.
Governor Huckabee, WE MISS YOU!
wouldn't matter if he were gay, black, disabled, you liberals would still have an issue with him because he's conservative. And, whereas you are totally cool with liberal blacks, gays, disabled folks, you love to make fun of all the above so long as they are conservative. You are revolting.
I like Cain, but understand he is still somewhat of a long shot. Liberal Racist Larry's disgusting interview does nothing but improve Cain's standing with people smart enough to see that crap is crap.
Cain (and really all of the GOP contenders) needs to make a show of getting high level briefings and discuss potential cabinet officers and demonstrate he is preparing to hold the office. While we could debate which action of Obama's is worst, to me his biggest failing has been the vermin he has appointed to important positions. Cain should show the contrast between the amateur hour we are currently experiencing and what he would deliver after being elected.
Nothing quite as pathetic as the cowardice of anonymous posters on the internet hurling ad hominen attacksagainst people better than them.

I remember O'Reilly came at Condi w/ the "black enough" line of questioning. Condi looked up and said, "Don't tell me about being Black, Bill. I've been Black my whole life."
There are those that would lump all Blacks, or Hispanics into one mind set, one voting block, one pool of victimhood. But as it turns out, individuals tend to surprise and act, well, individually. Huh, who'd a thunk it. Jefferson did.
Dear Mr. Cain:
Next time, just take a pause, look at the Camera and say "Mr. O'Donnell, did you just call me a house nigger?"
and watch his head explode. because that's exactly what he did.
He was probably thinking "Uncle Tom."
