FITZGERALD is Coming Home ... to the East Coast

Last week, the government put out a solicitation for a Dry Voyage Charter Heavylift Flo/Flo Vessel from Japan to U.S. - it looks like the FITZ will be brought back to the USA for full repairs.

Here is what caught my eye. Emphasis added;
16. Description: Request one U.S. or foreign flag Float On/Float Off (FLO/FLO) vessel capable of transporting an ARLEIGH BURKE class destroyer from Far East to U.S. Gulf Coast or U.S. East Coast.
So, nothing on the West Coast can take her?

No dry docks available on the West Coast, plus this will require a lot of not only structural work, but replacement of all equipment in AUX 1, two berthing compartments, Radio, forward IC/gyro and forward CHT pump room. That's shipbuilder stuff right there.
