Ah, Congress. Let's just think Navy for a moment - what could we buy for $4 billion in corn?

House Democratic leaders will add nearly $4 billion for farmers to a bill funding military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan to attract conservative Democrats concerned that the measure would wrongly constrict President Bush’s power as commander in chief.

Aircraft Carriers = ~1 (~$4.5 billion each).
Arleigh Burke DDG = ~4 (~$1 billion each).
Virginia SSN = ~1.5 (~$2.5 billion each).

Not to mention the dozens of F/18E/F/G you could buy.

Not to mention the beans and bullets for those in Iraq and Afghanistan.
