Well the upUS Navy stopped using Lead Base Oaint in 1996, which would have made Cdr. Michael William Brannon, USN the first of the post 1996 Rust Navy Commanding Officers or Cdr. Charles Ferguson...

How about for the period actually under discussion in the article? When that picture was taken. I'm guessing the ship didn't look like that when it came out of the builder's yard, so maybe that guy...

For what timeframe! USS Fort McHenry had twenty-four CO’s from 8 August 1987 to 27 March 2021! The last being Cdr. Michael J. Fabrizio, which last known whereabouts was in Mayport, Florida of the...

All these years later, I'm curious--does anyone know where the then CO ended up? Retire at 3-star or something?

LMFAO!!
See Mike, that is what I am talking about...
thanks Sal.. put a dot in the i... funny stuff.
Funny! Got to spend about four hours with Lee Ermey one day. A very nice guy who signed anything he was handed with a smile and took a picture with anyone who wanted one. A great American who loves his Marines.
Gunny for SecState! send him to Iran for talks without pre-conditions... :)
Screw it...Gunny for Prez...and then fly him to Iran...
Excellent! Thanks for this, I'd somehow missed this one on TV.
I know Dr. Emery cured ME.
Saw this on TV during Friday's Mariners game. It was the highlight.
I laughed my butt off when I saw this. I can't say I have not thought it either.
I can't say it loud enough but I am so glad I was blessed to be born in this country!!!! God Bless you all, enjoy the day and God Bless America.
Heh, that was rather amusing...ironically enough, that's pretty much what the counselor that helped me out was like, because I made it known that someone who only wanted to talk about my feelings would just piss me off.
Not all military mental health folks are namby pamby talk about your feeling pussies...
Just you Pal...
All the ones I encountered were, which is why I gave up on their "service". I figured I only had a 50-50 shot at accomplishing anything useful as soon as I saw the Mental Health (excuse me, "Life Skills" ) office full of "Mr. Rogers" blue cardigan sweater wearers.
My Gunnery Sergeant son-in-law assesses this as "Awesome". Still waiting for feedback from a high school classmate who became a psychiatrist after some time as a Marine Corps artillery officer.
Met him at Blue Diamond. He loved being there. Had to be near 70 at the time, and being out in the heat in the flak and helmet would have been hard on a guy 20 years younger, but he LOVED it! The Devil Dogs think he is a GOD.
He and Ollie North. (Who is one brave SOB. When he called the Govt Center in Ramadi the most dangerous place in Iraq, he wasn't kidding.)
I haven't met Lee but I certainly ran into some of his buddies at AOCS back in the 1970's. Most of the whiney girly men I've known could use a little time with them to get their heads straight. ;)
I love Ollie North! I wish he had been elected Senator in Virginia. :(
