Let the MilBloggie Voting Begin!

The nomination stage is over - and now it is time for the voting.

Thank you for all your support, and the
Final Five for Navy are:

-
USNI’s blog
-
Neptunus Lex
- Admiral Harvey's
US Fleet Forces Command blog
-
SteelJaw Scribe
- .....and
little 'ole Salamander

That my friends is a group I am proud to be in formation with.

Give it a ponder and
place your votes .... and while you are at it, throw a little love Maggie's way in the Military Support Category.

Vote early -
vote often - and remember that you only have until 07 APR to vote.

Don't abandon your friends, it isn't - sniff - pretty.

UPDATE: I would also recommend "A Little Pink In a World of Camo" in the "U.S. Military (spouse)" category.

I am with Pete.  But, I think it looks British.

I hate that I have to vote for either a Blog done by the good Admiral and for a blog by the good Cdr.  I don't think you can compare the two.  I am SURE that if the Admiral did not have gold braid weighing his wrists down we would see some utterly stellar blogging by him.

The most prolific GOFO blogger--and I would say the biggest champion of active duty blogging--I have not even seen mentioned and it has caused me to wonder why this is.  Did Adm Stavridis get a nod in the nomination process?  He has much of his staff blogging as well.  Yet, no real mention of him...  Is it cause he's not CONUS? Strange.

Ahem, that's the Soviet Cruiser Murmansk what ran aground in Norway while on the way to shipbreakers in India. They just left it to rust in place.

    Do I get a prize?

The triple gun turrets had me thinking it was a Cleveland class for awhile but then I remembered seeing this thing before, thinking it was weird that nobody  had done anything about the wreck.

    Back to the title...

VOTE!   Mention in your OTHER favorite blogs to vote (if there are heresey/apostasy/blasphemy charges, let them wait until after the 7th).

Do it for your own reasons.

Personally I am looking forward to the acceptance speech transcript.  Will it mention a favorite wine?  That 34 yr old guy who dressed up like a BGen?  We won't know unless we get out the vote...

I appreciate the support Sal.  Can you also throw a little nod in that post for the Military spouse candidate "A Little Pink in a world of Camo"?  The second place candidate "ArmyWifetoddlerMom" is also asking people to support Rachel Porto.

CPL Jonathan Porto was KIA in Afghanistan on March 14th, 3 weeks ago.  I really, really want her to take this prize in a big way.

When did the Murmansk sink?  How long she's been there?

I've read comments on the concern - at USNI Blog - about the concern moving Texas, Olympia, even Yorktown - this looks like case in point.

GOH - go vote for "A Little Pink In A world of Camo" (in US Military Spouse) and I will love you forever!  LL is a good friend and I could never resent a vote for her.

As I said in my blog, LL, Leta and the USO Girls walk the walk in troop support....I am just screwing around trying to get Sailors to pay attention to me.

Your wish is my command.  I've never said "no" to a redhead, and I'm not about to start now.

She's been there since 1994, broke her tow on the way to the breakers in India.

Apparently, she is being cut up in place now, at least according to this article. http://www.afgruppen.no/en/Environment/News/AF-Gruppen-is-removing-the-abandoned-ship--Murmansk--/

Dang,. Can I vote for two in the sailor category?  I mean, I love you, man, but Lex was my first one, of Naval Bloggers. He very gently introduced me, with hardly any pain, and I soon learned to to move with him, and enjoy it.

Sorry about that. Modem hung up on me when I was trying to post. I really don't have that kind of feeling for Cap'n Lex. Honest! Please delete all but one copy of that comment.
