You know what Lawrence is trying to do, don't you? Amazing. I know what Herman went through in high school and college, my parents and grandparents told me from the white side.
It was a very different world than the one we are in now; and one Lawrence as a Boston Blue Blood has no concept of. What a nasty bit of work he is.
I think Herman handled it as well as anyone could without reaching through the camera and dotting his eye.
