This week I want to quote the Command in Chief from the State of the Union speech Tuesday night.
These achievements are a testament to the courage, selflessness, and teamwork of America’s Armed Forces. At a time when too many of our institutions have let us down, they exceed all expectations. They’re not consumed with personal ambition. They don’t obsess over their differences. They focus on the mission at hand. They work together.Mr. President, you're right. Especially Gen-X and younger, we don't.
When you put on that uniform, it doesn’t matter if you’re black or white; Asian or Latino; conservative or liberal; rich or poor; gay or straight. When you’re marching into battle, you look out for the person next to you, or the mission fails. When you’re in the thick of the fight, you rise or fall as one unit, serving one Nation, leaving no one behind.
When we come back from the mission though, when we try to keep that bind, there is an entire army of self-serving racialists on the DoD pay roster who see as their whole job to obsess over our differences; to count or invent every white, black, Asian or Latino nose. They force sectarianism and division for their own purposes, eroding out progress to a more equal and fair nation.
They are a cancer - a cancer that is eating at exactly the good that you spoke of. If you truly believe your words - act. As of right now, your military actively discriminates on the basis of race, creed, color and national origin - all you need to do is start with the actions of the Navy's Diversity Bullies and go from there.
It is just the tip of the iceberg.

What was it that President Reagan was accused of? Command by spontanious utterance? Hey, the POTUS just did that. This is our chance to get rid of the racist ilk and run the military on mission and meritocracy, not skin color and body waste management plumbing and reproductive mechanisms. Hooyah, Mr. President! I will follow your lead (of course, as always) on this and seek to stamp out those that go against my CINC's wish on this. Here's the CNO's top cover to double down on the Mission First Mantra.
Can someone explain to me how diversity policies and EEO aren't mutually exclusive? Isn't EEO codified in Federal law, while diversity policies are not?
Correct. However, you have 4 star emails and message traffic talking about "accountability studies" wrt diversity. You know how that works. Implied threat/order from on high.
Platitudes from POTUS. Nothing more. One short blurb to try and give the impression of his Solomon-like wisdom and enlightened viewpoint.
However, we still have Eric Holder, and Sonia Sotomayor, and Jeremiah Wright, and a host of others who have beliefs much more racist and extreme than the Diversity Nazis in the Armed Forces.
Eliminate Diversity because of this one intentionally-delivered statement? Not a chance. Stand by for much more of the same. Much more.
He said it. But does he believe it? Does he live it? Sadly, no.
Words....
I asked that question once and got written up for it. In NAVSEA, the Diversity and EEO offices are staffed by the same people. Frickin explain that one to me.
Sort of like doctrine and enforcement in the same office?
It would be funny if the Diversity Bullies got unceremoniously dumped out on their a** due to that statement from the Commnader in Chief....although he might be surprised when he learned what had been done in his name...!!
"Can no one rid me of this troublesome priest....???"
Yeah, and he also was yapping in his specially lit sunbeam from on high (really? REALLY???! who did the lighting?) about the wonderful troops and how "we have their backs" REALLY? Let's look at that ROE. I'm with AOD. Does he really believe the stuff that comes out of his own teleprompter?
Here's some leadership advice from some men who really know how to lead. The word "color" is nowhere to be found in this list of rules. Nothing about diversity. Nothing about counting personnel to make sure there's one of every hue and stripe. http://mcfc.dodlive.mil/
Well, I guess I'm more curious how diversity policies can legally square with EO law like the Civil Rights Act. I'm no expert on either, so I guess that if I ever brought it up, someone who has had diversity training (or something along those lines) knows the legalese answers that I would have trouble refuting. Plus, I'm sure just by bringing it up that I'd be labeled a bigot or jackass.
I didn't think the lighting looked that different than any of the other SOTUs past... Did I miss something?
You got written up? I believe the Civil Rights Act prevents retaliation for people who complain about discrimination, regardless of whether said discrimination is "proven" at that point in time.
At first I thought it was my imagination... but others noticed it too. There were 2 or 3 beams of really bright spotlight that came from his left that showed up to the point of distraction... beaming straight down on him. It was very distracting and I don't recall any other years where the lighting was that noticeable.
It was to show that he is annointed....
Screw you guys, I was born a poor Black child, so it is all good in this hood! Yeah, I would have shoved that "writeup" right up their fecal depositor.

Has anyone ever noticed that there is a demand for diversity in the federal government and the military…..except for those people who are, in fact, the diversity bullies?

I did some checking with the OPM data base on federal jobs that are directly related by title to EEO and Civil Rights. Almost 1,000 new EEO and Civil Rights jobs have been added since 2006, (Sept 2011 total 5,705) including 870 new jobs in “series 1860-EEO investigators,” something that did not exist in 2006. 65% of all federal EEO and Civil Rights jobs are filled by minorities. Of these, 76% are filled by African-Americans i.e. 49% of all who are in this business for the federal government.

Given that 66% of all federal employees are “White” (while the Relevant Civilian Workforce (RCLF) percentage is 73%), 18% are “African-American” (while the RCLF is 10%) and 33.9% are minorities (yet are 24%-27% of the RCLF—depending how EEOC vs. OPM vs. GAO counts Hispanics), does it look like we have diversity representation in those folks who are demanding diversity for everyone else? How do we see the breakdown of these same jobs in the military, including all of the EEO contractors making a living off of this? Perhaps, just perhaps, they try to find EEO problems where they really don’t exist so the end justifies the means (and their income not to mention sea daddy-based promotions)? Just thinking that maybe when we take the profit and self-serving motives out of EEO, then we really do end up with a government and military that successfully works together regardless of race and gender.

It's a fairy tale to believe the diversity 'industry' will follow those well parsed words and sunset themselves into oblivion; total defunding, and multiple GOFO with 'nards of steel are needed.
Beyond where are the carriers, what's ChickCDR think?
Sort of like judge & jury.
Well, ya know there was this guy. He's a pretty famous guy, and he had a dream.
I think some famous guy said "The truth shall set you free." Howver, the PC crowd cannot handle the truth. Especially truth like the factual numbers provided here. Must be some RAACCISSSTT person to even look up those numbers...
$500 billion in cuts, but not a dime cut from the diversity crap. Pretty much tells the whole story about what DOD thinks is important. Hope they remember that when the shooting starts and everyone wants to know where the carriers are and how soon we can put boots on the ground.
I recall that guy...the dream was good, really good, we can all agree on that. Didn't they even create a federal holiday for him, with lots of speeches & platitudes & stuff? Frankly, don't believe the guy would support the Navy's diversity directorate's overt racism either.
Actually, I am inclined to think he might. He was pretty special, better than Jessie, better than Reverand Al, then again, he had the big picture, and I think he would be pretty upset at the strides that have been made, w/ the separation w/in the black culture. There is a have and have nots there. I think the demise of family, church and community have done horrible things to the black community. And when I went to the National Meeting of the Man, we almost unanimously agreed that there is not much we can do about it. The table has been set, and they still won't eat their veggies.
And sadly, that is DoD bending to the purse strings rather than providing the best product for Congress's money.
