The Governor's public private hell

I don't think, even with the hypocrisy angle, that anyone can take pleasure in this.
Gov. Eliot Spitzer has been caught on a federal wiretap arranging to meet with a high-priced prostitute at a Washington hotel last month, according to a person briefed on the federal investigation.
There is the legal problem. There is the political problem.

The worst though, is the fact that he is a father with three daughters. The problem is that "Client-9" did his business on 14 FEB. Valentines Day.

Even if you are not a sentimental person - besides a birthday or anniversary - is there ever a worse time to spend thousands of dollars on a to-shelf prostitute that should be spent on your family.

I know Spitzer has resigned (Lt. Gov. is a blind, African-American - so you have that), but I hope he is able to fix what needs to be fixed with what is important now that political ambition, power, and fame have been consumed in fire of his own creation. I may not have been a great fan of Spitzer, but I wish him and his family well in this challenging period.

A lesson all should ponder as they think they can get away with it, whatever "it" may be. When we think that our position in life somehow makes us different or specially protected.

Oh, and for those who think a $5,000 and hour prostitute is somehow classier than the street walkers you have to wade through on the side-streets of the Reeperbahn - then read the links above with the complaints and transcripts. Sick business.
UPDATE: Looks like no resignation for the moment - though trends are that way. Live by the Gouge - die by the Gouge.

Oh, and "seattle fire" - the reason is that you cannot read anything about the Lt. Gov. that does not reference those two parts of his CV - and anyway, the CNO has told me that I am to have such items at the very top of the things I am concerned about - don't you know? (in actuality, I couldn't give a d@mn one way or the other, but I report, you decide)"
