Do you like your computer?

Now imagine you can't.

It is Valour-IT time folks. Here's the backgrounder;
Soldiers Angels Project VALOUR-IT TEAM NAVY

Project Valour-IT, in memory of SFC William V. Ziegenfuss, helps provide voice-controlled/adaptive laptop computers and other technology to support Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines recovering from hand wounds and other severe injuries. Technology supplied includes:
  • Voice-controlled Laptops - Operated by speaking into a microphone or using other adaptive technologies, they allow the wounded to maintain connections with the rest of the world during recovery.
  • Wii Video Game Systems - Whole-body game systems increase motivation and speed recovery when used under the guidance of physical therapists in therapy sessions (donated only to medical facilities).
  • Personal GPS - Handheld GPS devices build self-confidence and independence by compensating for short-term memory loss and organizational challenges related to severe TBI and severe PTSD.

Just make sure the people can fully justify a PTSD diagnosis, and prove their need for these devices, right?

"<span>On the political side, the Leftist logic train runs like this: if anyone in the military can have PTSD – then all have it. If everyone in the military has PTSD, they are not well. If they are not well, then they are to be pitied. If they are to be pitied, then they are not my peer. If they are not my peer, then their opinion is of no value. If their opinion is of no value, it can be ignored. If they can be ignored, no one will take them seriously. If no one takes them seriously, they have no power. If they have no power – they cannot get in my way."</span>

Is this just another attempt to marginalize the military?

Don't be an a55.  If you don't know the difference then you have greater problems than any of these heroes.  I would normally delete troll comments like yours - but sometimes people need to see mindlessness in action in order to know the barriers out there.

Oh .... and what Aubrey says.

We have the likes of you to marginalize a program that would allow someone with blindness or an amputated limb for those who were so damaged in the battle zone.

Would you say the same of someone who was hurt like this in an dustrial accident, or a car collision?  I'd guess not.

The project is to address the physical limitation imposed by wounds, not the psychological ones, but then you'd have to read and think before opening your mouth to comprehend that.

We have the likes of you to marginalize a program that addresses the physical limitations imposed by blinding or amputations.  It doesn't look like you did any more thatn look for some opportunity to spew some idiocy.

Would you react the same to a civilian injured in an industrial or car accident?  Probably not, because it's not so cool to dis a handicapped person, is it?  Not at all socially acceptable.

So how about chip in and spread the woord.  Who knows, someone you send this info to might think this is a great idea to help one of their own family members who may have become limited and would like to get a more normal life.

And, for your info, this is not Uncle's money being handed out.  It's real charity, person to person,. without the overhead cost of paying a Government Employee pay to take it in, account for it, then hand it back to someone who needs the help.  The PTSD issue was our tax money being handled in a cavalier fashion.  All donations to this project go to the laptops/wiis/GPS units or their transportation to delivery points.  None goes to administrative overhead...NONE.

Oh Sal, glad you can stick to the issues and not engage in name calling.  I guess it hurts when your hypocrisy is pointed out.
