Diversity Thursday
Oh look ... more ways to get your required EEO indoctrination/Diversity Industry support payment in, just like last week.
Can we add up this cost? -----Original Message----- From: [redacted], Virgle D CDR VT-10, CO Sent: Tuesday, June 19, 2012 15:58 To: [redacted] Subject: FW: NETC/NASP Complex Diversity Festival - 28 June 2012
99,
As RADM Quinn points out, great opportunity for those not otherwise occupied in training, and for any managers and/or supervisors who need annual EEO training sessions (see below).
OPS,
If students are not otherwise scheduled, put them on the schedule for this event. I expect some flight suit presence, even if it's small.
Betty,
Can we authorize time away from the work place for our civilians who want to attend any part of this?
VR, Skipper

Pensacola area leaders,
I'd like to draw your attention to the fact that the 2nd Annual NETC/NAS Pensacola Area Diversity Festival will take place next Thursday, 28 Jun 2012 from 0900-1500 at the Naval Air Technical Training Center (Building 3460). The festival is an all day training event open to all Pensacola area military and civilian employees, as well as their dependents. It is a rare "Two-Fer", in that it offers an effective and efficient means to knock out some mandatory annual training and it's fun. Ask anyone who participated last year.
I encourage each of you to take advantage of this great opportunity to celebrate what it means to be an American and encourage maximum participation from your command. I fully appreciate that there are some employees and students who may not be able to attend due to mission execution realities, but know that we have worked hard to create the opportunity for most to participate at some point during the day.
This festival is a huge undertaking that always reflects well upon our entire community. Opening ceremonies will set the tone for the entire event with local area dignitaries and our guest speaker, Mr. Lee Mun Wah, a master diversity trainer. He comes to us highly recommended as a public speaker. Many local area commands are sponsoring at least one special emphasis group or country during the festival, showcasing the history, culture, customs and artifacts of the entity represented. EEO training sessions, which satisfy the annual training requirement for managers and supervisors, will be offered as follows:
- "The Zombie in All of Us" (Classroom 1443 beginning at 1200 and 1300) - "Practical Tools for Managing Diversity" (Classroom 1442 beginning at 1230 and 1340).
I would like to thank you in advance for your support and for allowing your command representatives to participate in the planning of this year's event. As the leadership team, we must take the lead in bringing people together with a wide range of skills and experiences and you clearly answered the bell. Please take advantage of what your people have done and join us in this great opportunity to educate our people and celebrate our diversity.
If you have questions or need additional information, please contact Mr. Laurent [redacted] at Laurent.[redacted]@navy.mil, 452-[redacted] or Ms. Phyllis [redacted] at Phyllis.[redacted]@navy.mil, 452-[redacted].
I'll see you there. R/DQ
Lee Mun Wah? OK. I guess we all need to be patronized a bit.
This guy is horrible ... but he ain't cheap. Heck, his little film from the Clinton Administration comes in three DVDs ... at $300 a pop. That is a cool $900 to have it on DVD ... but being that it is just taxpayer money - who cares, right?
Now, imagine how much he charges to show up in person ....
Some will consider this an offensive comment, but who cares--
First, unless there are English heritage, German heritage, Southern heritage, New England heritage, Midwest heritage, Western heritage, Irish heritage, Scots-Irish heritage, Scottish heritage, Italian heritage, Scandinavian heritage, and Eastern European heritage displays going to be there, it ain't "diverse", it's "hate whitey" day.
Second, if the admiral was ever a combat-arms officer, it is difficult to detect from his message. I would have no confidence in his battle-field performance, because he seems a first class pol. Which means he rose on plitical, and not combat leadership, talents. Judging by the message, that is.
Third--JOs, this stuff is not going to be around thirty years from now, and maybe not 10 or fifteen. Embrace it at your peril.
My fun Age of Political Correctness diversity memory of the night,--a story told to me second-hand:
NTPS group touring NASA. Certain older distinguished "been there, done that" figure there. Tells the NFOs the hard truth--they ain't got a snowball's chance in hell, because it's two white guys up front and the rainbow coalition in back.
I personally think the Navy needs to understand that it starts valuing all equally, or my personal desire would be to just start shutting it down.

Less "diversity", more Americana.
