Simple cultural Marxist, sectarian, socio-political division. It is the Navy's ongoing disgrace that it has slathered its honor with such a patronizing, intellectually fetid, cheesy, sebaceous concept as this.
Behold the Navy's annual mal-translation of E Pluribus Unum; add up the manhours and TAD funds. Wallow in the hypocracy; cry the beloved country.

One's mind wanders on the retired mid-watch. Just imagine how much good could be done along marlinspike passageway were all these diversity folks put to work in basic seamanship..might be able to start a new surface warfare business: overhauling pilot ladders for the fleet and the merchant world. Ah Sucks..better go hit the sack.
ReplyDeleteAn old Seawolf sent me some video of HAL-3 this morning. I've read much about them in the past, but I studied the video carefully nonetheless. I came away from it upset because my Navy is nothing like his Navy was -- in more ways than one. My Navy is fraught with PC BS, and this is just one more example of it.
ReplyDeleteHere is the photo to go along with my submission.

Forget it. You didn't shave.
ReplyDeleteI wonder what Ms Sonya Tucker-Long's unredacted email address might be....
ReplyDeleteOne can only hope that OPNAV N134 will be eliminated in the next OPNAV reorganization. Capable fleet sailors are being told their services are no longer needed and we have untold people involved and perpetuating this no-value exercise. Sad!

ReplyDeleteNot a dime should be considered for cut from the DoD budget anywhere, especially the Navy, until this nonsense is purged, and LT Joseph, Sonia Tucker-Long, and Admiral van Buskirk are collecting unemployment.
ReplyDeleteSeamanship? Heaven forbid! The next thing, you'll be proposing that Sailors actually get regular small arms practice.
ReplyDeleteHey, this reminds me...have they cut up the Olympia for scrap yet? Probably only a matter of time. It's not like the Navy will try to save it...

Can we say "Black and White"?
JIBBER JABBER!!! PAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeletePrivate money and effort will save her.
ReplyDeleteJust like the economy. Just like health care.
Isn't the League of United Latin American Citizens tied up with La Raza (The Race)? These are the organizations that seek to establish Chicano SUPREMEMACY.
ReplyDeleteGiving a diversity award in the name of LULAC is tantamount to the Ku Klux Klan giving a full ride scholarship to a black woman to attend Notre Dame.
The more I dig into this website, the more I feel like yakking ....
ReplyDeletehttp://tinyurl.com/73v27f3
Don't you mean restored? I would think the logic is, if you have $$ to waste on this, you obviously have too much.
ReplyDeleteAwww... I'm disappointed, Phib. I read your first sentence and was hopeful we'd get TWO nakey posts in a row. It's just diversity. That's no fun.
ReplyDeleteWell, Barry's new domestic policy czar was a board member of La Raza so it is obviously a warm, fuzzy, happy, inclusive, skittles-sh&$@ing-unicorn of an organization!
ReplyDeleteI thought about submitting my Chief for the FEW award...but then I realized I can't because one of the requirements is participating in activities to promote women's employment. She doesn't have time for that because she's too busy being my Chief.
ReplyDeleteso I suppose I'll just have to put her in for a good old fashioned competitive EP.
Seamanship?! What the heck are you thinking? That would imply that the first priority was naval war fighting - why would you want to spread such vicious slander?!
ReplyDeleteAdmiral Greenert call your office...
ReplyDeleteNo, not too much money. Much worse. The egregious offense of using the limited money intended to defend this nation to instead further the racial/gender/sexual preference agendas of the far left.
ReplyDeleteStarting with this despicable sycophant:
Current months honoring special groups of Sailors
ReplyDeleteWomen's History Month is March
African American / Black History Month is February
American Indian & Alaskan Native Heritage Month is November
Hispanic Heritage Month is September.
Asian Pacific American Heritage Month is April
--- Am I missing any??
how about deckchipping.
ReplyDeletethey've already got the kneepads.

Still waiting for my nomination as grumpy, old, out of a billet reservist award. GOOOBR

Subject: One of Many, All of Value
Teammates,
As I mentioned in my Holiday message, last year was an outstanding success for our organization. I'm extremely proud of the commitment and technical expertise each of you apply every day toward the development of the best possible products for our warfighters.
This year, we'll continue our focus and measure our success by how much progress we achieve in the key areas of delivering warfighting capabilities, reducing acquisition cycle time and total ownership cost, and in implementing a long-range workforce strategy. Unlike previous years, we face resource challenges ahead and so it is important that we optimize our efforts in all three areas.
One clear way to build and sustain a creative and skilled workforce is to recognize and capitalize on the varied perspectives such a workforce brings to the development of products and solutions. Our CAO CONOPS model relies on the collaborative efforts of distinct talents to achieve innovative, successful outcomes. Every individual, civilian or military, is a valuable component, and just as different skills are essential to innovation, so too are different experiences, backgrounds and ideas. These varied perspectives enhance our collective thought and sharpen our analysis processes that are so critical to developing innovative solutions and products.
Varied perspectives come from a diverse workforce, and our diversity initiatives will contribute significantly to the success of our Integrated Product Teams, Competencies, FRCs and Warfare Centers and, therefore, the entire NAVAIR organization. We are better positioned to succeed when we embrace all aspects of diversity and provide an environment committed to respect and inclusion for all.
I intend to give particular focus to our long-range workforce strategy and ensuring that NAVAIR is centered on its core value to embrace a diverse workforce. This past year we created an Executive Diversity Council of senior leaders who recognize the relevance of a diverse workforce to the future of NAVAIR. They have joined with me to ensure an inclusive environment fostering sensitivity, dignity and respect; promote a command climate that emphasizes the importance of respectful dialogue; and to clearly define our standards, expectations and accountability to all NAVAIR employees.
As we celebrate the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., I urge you to seek out opportunities to enhance awareness and understanding of diversity through personal interaction, training and mentoring. I encourage you all to participate actively in these activities with an open mind. Help us make NAVAIR an inclusive workplace with a workforce motivated to the job-at-hand and dedicated to each other. In an organization driven by the future we must never stop learning, and personal growth in our values and beliefs is a critical part of the learning process.
We are all part of the same team. While you are one of many, you are all of value and all deserving of respect, human dignity and acceptance. NAVAIR is committed to ensuring and protecting those rights for every employee.
Good on ya!
VADM David Architzel
you're so diverse, you now zorch Aircraft Carriers around the globe.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=zorch
I was sorta thinking of Black-Indian Gay Officer Technician award.
ReplyDeleteYou know. BIGOT.
Can't say that there hasn't been progress though. It used to be that these requests for nominations would come in separate messages rather than in a single consolidated one.
ReplyDeleteEF that. The best thing anybody can do for womein in the workforce is their job. Write her up for being a stellar perfomer and example to all that a sailor should aspire to being a chief like her. Not a Black one, not a Red one, not a Yellow one, Not a taco or hot dog loving one, not a female or a male one. Just a kick ass chief. If everybody were sailors, good mediocre, or bad, we would save money, have more esprit de corps and would not have that nagging question about qualifications.
ReplyDeleteIs it too late to put in Captain Graf for a much deserved award??
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately ADM Greenert has been all words and no actions. Put your hand up anyone who expects that to change...
ReplyDeleteOops. Redaction fail. Sonya's full name is listed in F.7
ReplyDeleteBite your tongue! Cut up the Olympia?!
ReplyDeleteThe queen of England must have regifted the iPod that Obama gave her to Mighty Mike....
ReplyDeleteYa know, Sal only does that to be polite. UNCLASS message traffic and official phone numbers and e-mail addresses are a matter of public record.
ReplyDeleteYeah, and Miss Mullen is using it to listen to Jay Z so he can feel more diverse.
ReplyDeleteThe more things change, the more they stay the same. We've been set back 100 years to the days of NINA--no Irish need apply.
ReplyDeleteI think I just threw up in my mouth a little...
ReplyDeleteOT (sorry Sal) - URR:
ReplyDeleteWill you be in SD for WEST later this month? The offer to buy you a beer still stands. Sal (and Galrahn) have my contact info.
Yeah, I will actually be in SD. Let's drink beer.
ReplyDeleteI dunno for sure, but I think our reptilian host is also attending. Was sagst du, Phib?
Diverseficiency. At least we got that going for us. ;)
ReplyDelete7 November 2011 WASHINGTON (Reuters) — U.S. President BarackObama will ask government agencies on Wednesday to find cost savings by cutting back in areas ranging from travel and vehicles to purchases of promotional coffee mugs and gadgets.
ReplyDeleteSo if I do win one of these I'll have to VTC in to accept the award. Bummer....
Let's get with the biofuels, people...
ReplyDeleteA DoD organization with which I'm familiar just published direction regarding compliance with said guidance. Paraphrasing (a little):
ReplyDelete"Purchase of promotional items...shall be very limited and require approval of [organizational unit directors]....Exemptions to this direction are given to [HR organizations] for recruiting and diversity (emphasis mine) activities."
((double faceplant))
Since I am half Estonian, I am going to start the SEAS, the Society of Estonian-American Submariners and get an award going...yeah, let's see how far that goes.
ReplyDeleteseems kind of nancy boy to be on the same page as the SEAL Sniper now doesnt it?
ReplyDeleteNo Sir. No they are not. Officially, they must be FOIA'd. Don't get me wrong, I've passed stuff to Sal that he has posted, so I'm not casting stones. But even UNCLASSIFIED traffic can be denied in FOIA.
ReplyDeleteThe message in question is a NAVADMIN which anyone can read by going to the BUPERS website. Link is
ReplyDeletehttp://www.public.navy.mil/bupers-npc/reference/messages/NAVADMINS/Pages/NAVADMIN2012.aspx
From the source NAVADMIN anyone can view the complete email address.
FOIA is not required as BUPERS puts most all NAVADIMS on line for public access.
Sadly for the first time since retirement, I won't be able to make it to West. New paying gig requires my full attention this CY. 2013, if I am graced with an invititation and I am still fog'n a mirror, should be doable.
ReplyDelete2013? We will all be dead or in jail....
ReplyDeleteWill hoist one for ya, bub.
My eyes glazed over around "I'm extremely proud..." And what's with "good on ya!" Really, VADM, it's not cute. Act your rank.
ReplyDeleteUgh! I grew up with that group! First they're all about assimilation, then they learned to follow the money trail and became all about being different. Waffling sell-outs. Then my college BF won't take me to his LULAC dance thingy b/c, you guessed it, I was too white! And he couldn't figure out why no, I didn't want to go out tomorrow. Duh. Y'know, it'd be great if every group would shuffle their identity to the rear of the word "American", wouldn't it? (Is this gonna put me on a watchlist or something, Sal? Is the FBI or DHS monitoring you yet? They should...) American-Mexican, American-Chinese, American-Irish, American-fill-in-the-blank. Maybe something that simple would get all of our diversity-addled brains more focused into believing and acting like we're the one nation we are.
ReplyDeleteHug A Badger, They're So Snuggly Day is every day!
ReplyDeleteThey sliced up CV-6 USS ENTERPRISE, so why not?
ReplyDeleteI know I would not want to be in South Dakota in January, it's cold enough in WI.
ReplyDelete"winning" a Diversity Award, is like being awarded a Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal for working in the Gee-Dunk (true story). The Irony is you have to be "Selected" based on your gender, skin color or parents and antecedents heritage. Isnt that kinda RACIST? Just sayin...
ReplyDeleteSTB,
ReplyDeleteSD= San Diego!!!!!
Which, since this morning is -17 here in Vermont, will be MOST welcome for a week in January!!!!
-17? Thats cold - we're plus 15 here along the bay - almost shorts weather.
ReplyDeleteSadly still not enough ice for hardwater fishing.
Haven't had the ice here either, but probably will after this weekend.
