“You know, if a ballplayer threw a game and they get caught, they go to jail. Well, what are we going to do to the Republicans who are throwing the country?Via the Palm Beach Post, you can hear it straight from Palm Beach County Democratic Party fundraising dinner, County Commissioner Burt Aaronson. So much for the new tone.
“They’re throwing our country, and they all should be put in jail for what they’re doing, because they’re destroying our country, because they said at the beginning our one mission is to get rid of President Obama. That was their mission. They don’t care how much they destroy other people. They don’t care whether you go to work. They don’t care about anything.
“All they want to do is destroy the president. And in destroying the president of the United States, you destroy our country. They should be put in jail, each and every one of them, for throwing the country.”
Should we call him "comrade" or just give him the stiff-arm salute?
Twit. Geezzzz ... this is going to be a nasty election
You gotta get in their faces MAN!!!!!
ReplyDeleteDoes he comment here occasionally as "guest"?
ReplyDeleteI am glad their side believes in disarming. I think post election will be even nastier, no matter who wins.
ReplyDeleteHowever one feels about Mr. Gates, he said some interesting things today about the current (disfunctional) state of American politics.
ReplyDeleteNasty election? Ya think?
ReplyDeleteIt will be nasty as the facts are not on their side. Their boy won, had full control of Congress and the White House and their pet projects were shown to be more damaging to the country than anybody imagined. Now, to stay in power, they have to result (more so than usual) to shear screaching and vile. They have no facts or accomplishments to stand on. That little brew ha ha in WI this year, was not just about selfish concerns, but also a true fear by the union leadership... "What if the governor's plan WORKS?!" That is a bad day for them when the opposition has better ideas and is given space and time to successfully implement the sollutions set.
ReplyDeleteSo dissent is no longer the highest form of patriotism?
ReplyDeleteLet me guess, that became effective 20JAN09.
Not sure if I hate them more for their hypocrisy or their totalitarian impulses.
<span>"And in destroying the president of the United States, you destroy our country."</span>
ReplyDeleteNice to know the Left is so supportive of the President now, just as they were from 2001-2008.
F'in hypocrites.
Face it CDR S, you host one of the nastier ones yourself. This blog is "SWO Heaven"....my life sucks and I am going to make everyone as misearble as me!
ReplyDeleteStole the words... But you forgot mention Bushitler somewhere.
ReplyDelete<span>You don't seem to read very deeply into what the denizens have to say about their Naval service, do you? By and large they love the Navy, which makes the shenanigans and political machinations which erode that Navy's effectiveness all the more maddening.
ReplyDeleteAND he has bubbleheads, aviators, SWO, shipfitters, all sorts here. Even a lawyer or two. So your "ready, fire, aim" comment could possibly be reconsidered, perhaps.</span>
Staff "Puke." Nice when your name sums you up. No need to make small talk.
ReplyDeleteSP,
ReplyDeleteYea! Let's make this about me!
Nasty? Really - show me my "Top-3" nasty posts .... and not the "good nasty" but the "bad nasty."
Sorry about you though, my life is great and everyone around me is so happy they buy me beer! Sucks to be you, I guess.
Let explain the difference: Shut up, you racist!
ReplyDeleteSimple, huh?
Actually, that guy was pretty mild....I have been hearing/reading a number of comments, editorials and interviews from the left that are subtly and not-so-subtly threatening and advocating violence as a part of politics.
ReplyDeleteWhile this has mostly been the wacky-fringe at this point (a poster here, Michael Moore, Alec Baldwin, various writers in the Guardian) it is definitely becoming more common and, consequently, more likely.
I really fear that there is a danger of this moving beyond the truly insane (Tuscon, Norway) and into a mainstream threat. At any rate, to paraphrase and misquote the Blues Brothers, "I like both kinds, Smith and Wesson!"
URR, perfect.
ReplyDeleteWhen the left won control of everything in 2008, they thought that a new permanent era of liberal governance had been ushered in. They are absolutely stunned by the way that their favorite policies have created devastation all over the country, and (amazingly) still convinced that if the voters will only double down, a secular paradise will ensue.
ReplyDeleteI think that as we get closer to the 2012 election, and it becomes ever clearer that the voters have a bad case of buyer's remorse and are going to throw out Democrats all over the country, real violence could be brewing. Irresponsible union thugs and Democrat leaders like this one could wind up with real blood on their hands. It won't change the outcome of the elections. The Democrats are toast. But I'm very worried that instead of accepting the will of the people, they're going to channel the rage that they feel over losing that permanent majority into violence.
Real violence? Hah! How many liberals own guns and know how to effectively engage targets? Let them throw their tantrums, but let them also know that "real violence" is a bad idea on their part. If they trash their own neighborhoods, it is par for the course.
ReplyDeleteMy brother and I travel together every couple of years. This year he asked me what I expected in the next couple of years in terms of policitcs - I told him that my two biggest fears were:
ReplyDelete1) Obama finds some excuse to declare an "emergency" and postpone the 2012 election indefinitely
Or
2) Obame finds some excuse to declare an "emergency" and set aside the 2012 election results
Both of these outcomes lead to internal civil war. I give each option about a 30 per cent chance, with a roughly 40 per cent chance of Barry honoring the election. But theI'm an optimist.
(for URR's sake I should mention my brother is a retired Gunny Sergeant)
LT B, I'm thinking about all the articles that I've read over the last three years about ammunition absolutely flying off the shelves in the red states. You might just be right.
ReplyDeleteAubrey, on my first go round this morning I somehow missed your comment down at the bottom. If I had seen it, I could have just clicked on "like" and skipped writing a comment of my own.
ReplyDeleteI don't agree quite as much with your comment above. I really don't think that anything as drastic as that is coming. When I worry about politically-inspired violence, I'm not thinking about wide-spread armed insurrection. I think isolated outbreaks in areas like Wisconsin, that used to be completely controlled by liberals and are slipping away from them, are more likely. And, of course, there are politicians like Maxine Waters, who use violent rhetoric to appeal to their constituents.
You and your gunny sergeant brother probably don't have to worry, though. I imagine liberals give you guys a wide berth. :)
I'm going to ignore the fact that the left/right paradigm hasn't been valid for 200 years, and focus on the mis-belief that Communists and Fascists are somehow the same. They aren't.
ReplyDeleteTrue, they're both statist, totalitarian, single-party regimes, but there are at least as many differences as there are similarities. For example, Communists are rationalist & internationalist, while Fascists are irrationalist & jingoistic. Communists explicitly support state ownership of the means of production, while Fascsists are capitalist, albiet not free-market. In fact, one commenter over at Castle Arggghh! claimed that China is now Fascist, based on the fact that they've been building a corporative/capitalistic economic system. It's an arguable point.
Liberals (even the 20th-century kind, not Classic) are not Progressives, who aren't Socialist, etc. In the same vein, Libertarians aren't Conservatives, who aren't John Birchers.
I blame Jonah Goldberg... *DONT_KNOW*
Staff Puke:
ReplyDeleteWould you care to break a lance with a long past his prime old man, sonny?
Apres vous. What with the ague, it'll take me a moment to get up from my shady spot.
Gramps
Funny - the Germans and Italians who fought in the Spanish Civil War seemed pretty internationalist to me .... the Fascist party in pre-war UK and USA ... etc ... etc ...
ReplyDeleteLT B,
ReplyDeleteJust remember that some of the best of the Left-Wingers were very capable of being very destructive with their tempertantrums.
Just for example: SDS, Weathermen Underground, The Galleanists, Seattle WTO Incidents, BPP. Then we have the Wobblies and their brand of union justice such as San Fransico, sabotage in Europe, and some more famous incidents in Washingto State labor industries unions.
