You are a member of the Legislative Branch of the United States of America, representing citizens of the USA; a nation made up of 50 sovereign States.
You are sitting in your House.
The leader of a foreign nation is speaking to you in your House. He directly attacks one of the constituent States of your Union - and by proxy - the Nation you serve and its citizens.
You give him a standing ovation.
Mmmmmm. Interesting view you have of your Nation and your feelings for her.
Because many in elected positions in this country loathe that which we stand for. Egged on by BHO and the cabal of community organizers following the Saul Alinsky playbook.
ReplyDeleteI agree DB. The hypocrisy is mind numbing. We are the only nation on this Earth that has to have such an open border policy. It is maddening.
ReplyDeleteThat whole, "enemies, foreign and domestic" thing....
ReplyDeleteSure is getting blurred on the domestic end of the spectrum. Not advocating anarchy here. Far from it. I won't swim in the cesspool these buffoons are already in. But its time to make sure we fully our rights come Nov of this year and again in '12.
This crowd has hated America since the 1960's, when they were smoking dope and blankly staring at lava lamps....
I guess those who stood having forgotten thier oath of office.
ReplyDeleteIf this is our leadership, our representation, we are screwed!
Buy more ammo while you can, we are going to need it.
Chalk this one up to the over-bearing "self esteem" crowd, who thinks everyone should feel happy all the time. No connection to any bad behaviors you may have that should earn you a good thumping by the closest "authority" figure present.
ReplyDeleteNow, to tie this into the discussion in 2008 on immigration reform: Since the dems are teetering at maybe not a majority of votes, and they have killed off their seed corn for since Roe v. Wade, this is, via my strategic looking glass, just one more step towards getting an instant bump (to the tune of about 12M+ voters, without looking too obvious. They must refill the tanks with the right kind, because they aborted them out of existence....play now, pay later...always a grand idea when you are "doing your own thing."
At thtis moment, I'll apoligize for the spoled brats of the Baby Boomer Generation, that are currently in control of the economic management, and are raping the future generations wallets with abandon. I'm of that age group, but not one of them.
However, back to startegy, while trying to do what Dems do best: Attract all the little fringe groups with promises, so as to collect plenty of votes (then pissing them off when thye don't execute on the promises), yet, in this case, with the numbers showing 70% of the voters (note meaning legal residents and not dead people) are for what Z is doing. While couting the votes before the eggs hatch, I suspect some with leave the party lines over this, so the Dems will now become attached to the illegal immigrant crowd, as a bulk of the representaive voters. Not a good picture in the long run.
But the Dems seem intent on just pushing past the polls, when in the run up to 2008, all they could do is quote how polls showed the electorate wanted to get rid of the Bush policies....
Nov could be really exciting.
Calderon should just state the fact: if we threw out all the illegals, Mexico would go Tango-Uniform. First, they don't have the jobs. Second, they don't have the cash (the money all goes south of the border). I'm not holding my breath on immigration reform. Why? Cheap labor and votes. Powerful people have interests in keeping things the way they are.
ReplyDeleteI fall back on this nice fact: 5 years. FIVE YEARS it took my formerly indian carribbean girlfriend and her family to legally START coming to the US. And that was for medical treatment! It took another few before they could legally live and work in the country. Now they are all citizens. With masters degrees. Working as forensic chemists and IT support for the State Police. Paying taxes. And we are going to "normalize" illegals?!?!?! Seems racist to me. No wait, we're conducting "targeted diversity................."
In watching Calderon's speech I was struck by the fact that it was just a part of the audience that kept leaping to their feet to applaud his attacks on Arizona and the United States in general. Does it come as a shock to hear that it was the same group of Democrats who wildly applaud everything Obama has to say in his speeches?
ReplyDeleteThis administration, and their allies in the Congress have nothing but contempt for America and traditional American values. Unlike the President, or his Attorney General, or his Secretary of Homeland Security, I've actually read the Arizona law and I believe that it is not only fully Constitutional, but is actually less restrictive than existing federal law and the allowable standards of enforcement under unanimous Supreme Court decisions. Those are the very laws that the President, and his administration, ignore or refuse to enforce.
What am I missing here? The Democrats are already in terrible shape for the upcoming elections, and they leap to their feet to applaud a foreign head of state who insults a very popular law? I mean, I know that the Constitution and the borders mean nothing to them, but how can they be that stupid? That video is likely to show up in a lot of campaign commercials this fall.
ReplyDeleteApplause for an alien, invading army that is pouring across our border. What planet are these congress members living on? He is right about it being "our common problem". They have 12 step programs for that. Congress could sure use one.
ReplyDeleteIt’s not the votes that count. It’s who counts the votes.

Vote them all out of office!!! I know my congressman (Boehner) did not applaud this disgusting insult. Find out if your congresscritter did applaud and if so then convince your neighbors to vote them out of office!!!
ReplyDeleteMegyn Kelly (I love her, BTW) came to the same conclusion wrt to this law. She said that the Federal Law was more open for abuse than the AZ state law. Then she cited SCOTUS cases to support her argument. I'd like to see LA get their power cut off for a bit and watch the havoc the illegals would pull (looting and such). Oh the IRONY!
ReplyDeleteCongressman McClintock, Calif gives a pretty rebuttal to this farce....
ReplyDeleteAmazing the CONGRESS of the United States giving time for this asshat to critize Arizona, our Constitution and our way of life. F*@*( him and his burro... and while he is at it, how about getting me a half off Margerita, mui Pronto... asshat...

Yea Ole El Presidente gets amnesty and he gets 20 million invaders instantly in his debt and can directly influence politics in El Norte....
ReplyDeleteSTAND UP AND GET SOME NUTS AMERICA!
The 5th Column
ReplyDeleteHey Mr. Presidente of a drug infested third world war zone...this is another American that "stongleee disagreeess" with your coming to my backyard and critizing us. Clean up your own house first...That we have stupid, spineless, panty-waisted lawmakers here makes many of us disagree with them. And they're getting thrown out one by one. Don't make us go MTH on ya...
ReplyDeleteEvery time I think this crew couldn't get any worse, they defy the odds. Interesting how much of the media seemed to soft-peddle this.
ReplyDeleteInstead of wasting troops on Operation: USELESS DIRT, we need to put a few divisions on the south border.
ReplyDelete"All enemies, foreign and domestic;" etc...etc...
Oh yeah... and ...elections are coming. Everyone that stood up for this clown needs to be voted out or tried for treason.
ReplyDeleteNUTS!
ReplyDeleteDid anyone see Calderon's interview with Wolf Blitzer? He actually said the Mexican police ask for papers of citizenship when stopping people and that they arrest and then sends illegals BACK to their own country. Even if they only came there to look for work! The hypocracy is totally amazing.
ReplyDelete...and takes a pretty good swipe at the Diversity mafias, to boot (2:55 mark or thereabouts).

ReplyDeleteSat next to Rep McClintock on a SWA flight to USNI West, and chatted for a good bit. He is a hell of a guy. Nothing of the Washington elite "we are smarter than you and if only you know what I do you would see how smart I am" crap about him.
ReplyDeleteHaven't watched the video yet but I am sure I will enjoy.
<span> El Presidente didn't have a problem with AZ until we asked him to take a few of his illegal countrymen back to Mexico on his return flight.

Very well spoken. Thank the Lord for youtube.
ReplyDeleteOne of the biggest disasters this country has experienced is the 60's generation. Those folks were teenagers/early 20's, had just had their parents come back from the war of all wars - WWII (and I'll throw in Korea), defending this country from a great evil, only to say - 'so what'. They just wanted to smoke dope, and turn what was right wrong, and wrong right.
ReplyDeleteThe 1973 abortion ruling wasn't just about abortion, it was another example of life (sex) w/out consequence. The recent real estate implosion - life w/out consequence. Illegal immigration - life w/out consequence. The recent Obamacare bill - life w/out consequence. 50% of the population doesn't pay federal income taxes - life w/out consequence (others can pay).
All this from a 60's crowd that never grew up and realized that responsibility to achieve is yours, and yours only.
