The 2010 Fourth Annual MILbloggies has officially kicked off today, and runs through April 7, 2010 until 11:59 PM EST. The MILbloggies are currently in the nomination phase, which will last until Saturday, April 3 11:59 PM. The top 5 nominees in each eligible category then move into the Voting Phase starting Sunday, April 4.- but, if you are so inclined, you can click here and Nominate Me. Rude? Sure - but this will be the first MilBlog Conference I will be at in person, so I thought that would be an excuse to be self-focused, and I'm needy.
You can keep track of the nomination standings in real time on Milblogging.com here.
You must register and sign in to Milblogging.com to nominate a military blog and you can nominate as many blogs as you want in each category, but you can only nominate the same blog once. Registration is free and we do not send spam, but it’s required in order to vote and to eliminate bogus nominations/votes.
If you decide to not be my friend and want to make a grown man pout like you read about, then you can always nominate other folks - but really.
Nominate now and vote later when I tell you, and everyone will be just fine.

Yes sir! Just put the gun down and let the dog walk away! :)
ReplyDeleteAny chance of a(nother) Potomac Fleet Salamanderpalooza? I really could probably be there this time, I think....
ReplyDeleteWhat is it with you naval officers holding dogs hostage? Lex did the same thing (repeatedly!) for Valour-IT fundraisers... =-O
ReplyDeleteIsn't this what you really meant to say?

Poor dog worked for me here and with Lex at Valour-IT - one of these days we'll let you waste the pooch.
ReplyDeleteNoted.
ReplyDeleteOur version of "What the Captain said......."
ReplyDeleteSo, Sal, what if we told you that 2nd place won a pint of Guinness?
Hey, I voted first (#15) and only realized later I would be saving the dog, too!
ReplyDeleteAll the best!
Tiny update, the other blog says we have until the 7th (I think you refer to the 3rd) so don't miss those extra days!
Note: Lex (and surfcaster) did the honorable thng. CDR S...well doing it for hisself....Oh, the humanity!
ReplyDelete.... am I not allowed any fun? Is that so wrong?
ReplyDeleteDunno, he might ask for French wine... (time to run like hell!)
ReplyDeleteBetter a dog, than a Badger.
ReplyDeleteWell, we know you'd never do it...so...an idle threat...consider it your fun for the week.
ReplyDelete'Cuz... if it was a cat nobody would save it?
ReplyDeleteRetraction-
ReplyDeleteApparently I don't understand the difference between voting and nominating. CDR S is correct on the dates, and he said the 7th in the blog. VOTE like it's NOVEMBER!
I voted to nominate you (you are currently leading the U.S. Navy category), but it had nothing to do with the dog. Been lurking here for the better part of two years. I really enjoy the insight and banter between the good CDR and the regulars. Although to save the dog will be an added bonus. Agreed with DB, nobody would save a cat!
ReplyDeleteI got ya to 23 Sir. USNI is giving you a run for your money, though. But, don't you still win if they win? I mean you've got a residency there just the same.
ReplyDeleteAhhhh .... HA!
ReplyDeleteFoiled again!
This is just the nomination phase. This gives you the top 5 than the vote ... but 'ya; it all fun.
Podna, you stick a gun in a cat's ear, the cat is going to eat your arm up, then clean itself :)
ReplyDeleteru saying to vote early, and often?
ReplyDeleteLET THE VOTING BEGIN!
ReplyDeleteIT HAS BEGUN!
THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE!
OK, the voting for the prize has started. The Good CDR came in second on the nomination phase, which was enough to get him in the finals. Good so far, but a bit more shameless advertising might be in order.
My vote brought us into a tie for 1st place (#5). Spread the word. We can do this!
DO IT FOR THE DOG!
(not my best battle cry, and not sure how it will be interpreted, but a start...)
Seriously, less reading, more voting!
As of my vote, you're ahead by one :)
ReplyDeleteDone...
ReplyDeleteWhile you're there, share the love with A Little Pink in a World of Camo.
DB - Great call. The MilSpouse category has two friends of mine, but this year really has to go to Rachel Porto. Come on people, you're on the site and registered anyway! Pop into U.S. Military (Spouse) and show this Marine Gold Star Wife we're there with her.
ReplyDeleteCPL Jonathan Porto was KIA in Helmand Province, Afghanistan 3 weeks ago today. Rachel is dealing with this through looking after their daughter Ariana, supporting Hope for the Warriors, and blogging.
Go read this post - "I Will Always Be A Marine Wife" http://alittlepinkinaworldofcamo.blogspot.com/2010/03/i-will-always-be-marine-wife.html and tell me you could vote for anyone else this year.
Shared the love with you, too, Maggie. Keep up the bloggin'.... :-D
