Palin PalmGate

Some a55hats are making comments about what any successful person has done - put the important things in a place easy to get to.

It also helps when you think off the cuff without a teleprompter.

They sneer that she needs notes on her palm (just like almost all the General Officers/Flag Officers I have served with), but you know what I see? I see what is on her wrist. Her son.

Track Palin - United States Army. Served in Iraq.

Bite me moonbats.

Hat tip Steve.

UPDATE: Via Sid in comments - I guess they would say the same thing about this guy?
UPDATE II - Electric Boogaloo: As Brad points out, this is why most of us still luv her. As for those who don't - the below is what they do not want you to see and hear.

    Bite me, indeed!

I've about had it with the left. I can give a 1 hour presentation about a number of subjects without notes. I learned how to speak to an audience, how to feel the emotion and respond to what the crowd wanted, what they were asking for. The ability to sense the needs of the audience is the mark of an orator, and is sorely lacking in the TOTUS-addicted POTUS we currently enfure.

I'm not saying I'm a great speaker, but I spent 6 years as a principle actor with the American Renaissance Theater. I understand what's expected when you are onstage. If you need a few crib notes, that's what you do. Better to write on your hand, then to come up empty like Obama so often does.

I love it. A few scrawled notes on the palm of that woman are worth far more than the scrolling words on an expensive machine read by a Punahou/Harvard grad. And the bracelet? Priceless.

There's a mildly famous picture of a WWII P-47 pilot smoking . His ungloved hand has mission notes scrawled all over it. I've done the same thing many times myself. Its an effective way of having critical notes "on hand" (so to speak). I'd rather do that then come out second best in a 10 second discussion with an plumber, like some people I've heard of.....

Leftist media loves keeping her name in the news each and everyday as opposed to reporting news in an impartial manner.

Sid-One quick question? How did you find it? I went looking through Google Images, but was unable to locate it. Did you use a different search technique, or did you happen to have the book on your shelf?

Serioously though, I found the pencil drawing by some google search variation of "fighter pilot enjoying smoke"...But, like you, I was thinkin the guy was a P47 driver.

I then remembered it was likely in the Time-Life series on WWII that I have...and voila

  15. Even with notes on her hand she is still didn't get the message right.

The point of bringing this up is simple-Palin expects a double standard when it comes to her and what she does. She eviserates the White House COS for a perfectly reasonable ( and accurate) comment made about his own side in a private meeting.

Yet-she gets away with virtually the same thing every day-because if someone calls her on her nonsense they are ganging up on her.

She can write on her hand all she wants and wear bracelets all she wants-there are a lot of Americans with sons serving in Iraq many of them who can speak a lot more cogently than her. Sarah Palin remains the fraud that she is. Unfortunately her "meaninglessness can come to stand for something in America. ".

I think this speaks to the deep embarrassment that even the most ardent leftist feels about having a leader who can't address a staff meeting without a teleprompter. Attacking Sarah is easier and much more fun for them than defending an ever-shrinking President.

  18. Please, please, please -- I hope she starts to run in 2011! (some think she is already kicking off her campaign...)

Her speech was, as we used to say in the engineering spaces: "All RPM & no torque".

It will make the 2nd Obama administration that much sweeter!

Looking forward to the debates between Sara-cude and the 'prompet-Won.

Jay, Sarah can put more punch in a palm full of notes that POTUS could put into a couple of gigs of teleprompter memory. And sad to say, you sound almost frantic that she has another whole year for the Nation to start seeing that there is a beautiful woman with brains and guts to stand againts the Won.

The chap in the pencil drawing is standing in front of a P-47C. Look at the windshield, with the small window at the top of the frame, and the non bubble canopy. Your mind was recalling correctly. The P-47D had no small window at the top of the widshield, and a bubble canopy.

C'mon people she is one fry short of a happy meal. Maybe if you took time to really look at conservative thinkers you would discover there are some truly great choices for the republican party that rise above the screaming and yelling, and the limbaugh lie machine. In theory as a liberal I really shouldn't care but seeing the Republican party turned into an international joke just saddens me. Honestly stop listening to the chattering class and get out there and really find the real thinkers liberal and conservative alike and make up your own mind.

Like Haley Barbour-who actually completed a term governing a state-one that is far more complex to govern than Alaska.

  25. Skippy-san19:17

Kristen, If you are on the whole teleprompter thing-how do you explain the fact that Obama used complete sentences and spoke with out notes to the House Republican leadership?

Nate Silver explains it best: Is it a big deal that Palin wrote some notes on her hand? No, not really. Lots of politicians carry notes with them (if not, as in Palin's case, literally on them). If this were Mitt Romney, it wouldn't have been a particularly big story. Nevertheless, politics is inherently contextual, and this was something that was bound to play into every negative caricature of Mrs. Palin. Somebody needed to take Palin aside and tell her: Honey, this is going to make you look ridiculous. Can't you write on a notecard instead?

What if we did make up our own minds after thoughtful consideration?

Libs, leftists and Dems are awful quick to become oh so helpful about choosing GOP politicians they think we should support.

Is SP the second coming of Reagan? Prolly not. But your condescension towards her and her supporters is disgusting.

    ReplyDelete
  28. UltimaRatioRegis22:09

Besides, she looks a hell of a lot better in fishnets than Spiro Agnew ever would.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Skippy-san00:36

Because her supporters are supposed to be more more peceptive. And see through her-as the fraud that she is.

If she really cared about the "movement"-she would have spoken at that convention for free-she made more money in one night than most of the attendees make in one year. Am I the only person who sees the problem or the inconsistency in that? Sarah Palin is motivated by one thing and one thing only-money.

The simple truth is that the Republican party has more capable people than this woman. If people are condescending it is because she deserves every bit of the scorn she gets-and rational human beings are shocked that she is even a celebrity at all. The really disgusting thing is that she, and for that matter the tea baggers, are getting any press at all. Why is she given the attention that she is? She's a former governor who quit largely for the money. The woman is a first class demagouge and her supporters have yet to see through her lies.

    ReplyDelete
  30. X BradTC03:01

What's wrong with her making money? Nothing. Do you complain when Bill Clinton takes money for making a speech? Or Al Gore? Or any other speaker? Of course not.

I suspect that she's capable of being motivated by more than one impulse. Of course she has further politcal abmitions, either in elected office, or as a "kingmaker." And if she can make money while building a political powerbase, that's fine as well.

The simple truth may be that the GOP has more capable people. Or it may not be so. That's why we have elections, to find out. You propose Haley Barbour. But many members of the GOP don't find him acceptable. As I said, the libs and Dems are awful quick to try to help the GOP select the "right" candidates.

And I wasn't speaking to Palin's critics when I addressed condescension. I was speaking to the condescension you have shown to your fellow citizens. I support the TEA party movement, because it is largely composed of people who were not politically active until they saw the stupendous levels of spending that the Obama administration ushered in. They weren't happy with Bush levels of spending, and tripling down on that level was finally enough to make them stand up in public and say "Enough!"

And you, Skippy, calling people teabaggers, when you know it is a slur, is beneath you. I don't like being called that.

And you find it disgusting that she and the TEA party movement are being covered in the press. Do you know WHY they are being covered? Because she and they represent the disatisfaction with the course politicians have plotted lately, and all evidence from elections held since 2008 shows that they are a force to be reckoned with.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Skippy-san07:22

I did use the term as a slur-I hold the tea party "movement" in disdain. I have a lenghty explnation of why I hold the "movement" in low regard here: http://fareastcynic.com/?p=5066.

The press is an enabler of these of these folks and of Palin in particular. When you say that a lot of the Republican party has problems with folks who can actually govern and cross over to those of us also live in real America-I submit that shows what is wrong with the Republican party.

As for the money-most of those other politicians don't leave office to blatantly make money-it comes as an adjunct of their finishing their terms. Think of how much she would have made in contributions to the "movement" if she had spoken for free-and they had not had to charge 500 a pop just to get in.

Mostly I see Palin as a symbol of how really crazy and stupid politics has become in this country.

  32. MR T's Haircut07:30

What does the term finish dig mean? Obama was a "present" State Senator and bailed on the good people of Illinois as soon as he was elected to Senate and he ran for President. Why the double standard?

Palin has it in spades.. looks and common sense... the lefties hate that in a Lady...
