British artist Mark Wallinger has won the prestigious Turner Prize for his exhibition State Britain. The show comprised reconstructions of hundreds of banners, photos and teddy bears which a British activist had used in his years-long protests against the war in Iraq. The Turner Prize jury said the work was of historical importance.That bear wouldn't be names "Mohammad" would it? No, I didn't think so.
The actor Dennis Hopper presented Mr Wallinger with the prize which includes cash worth 37,000 euros. Great Britain's annual Turner Prize is one of the art world's most important awards and was first given in 1984.
