As in, a solution imposed from on high?lopingsquidnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7704146.post-13945872206688597472010-01-18T03:33:14.000-05:002010-01-18T03:33:14.000-05:00I find it incredible that so many camouflage unifo...I find it incredible that so many camouflage uniforms and operational dress uniforms exist among the five services. The Coast Guard rushed to obtain "true blue" fatigues that look like SWAT uniforms. Then everbody complained that the shirts tuck in, so new untucked shirts had to be created. Coast Guard Port Security Units wear the desert camouflage uniforms abandoned by the Army. The Air Force has the Airman Battle Uniform but still wears the desert camouflage uniform abandoned by the Army. The Army calls its Army Combat Uniform "Universal Camouflage" but now needs to develop a four color camouflage that includes brown for fighting in Afghanistan's mountains. MARPAT has desert and green versions. Why is the Navy developing woodland and desert NWU's for some units while having other units wear the BDU's and DCU's abandoned by the Army? Why can't the pentagon develop camouflage for woods, deserts, mountains, and snow and then let all services wear them with their own insignia. The Air Force could even put blue sleeve stripes on them, and the Army could wear them with a beret in Air Ports and Recruiting Offices. Linkin Mallnoreply@blogger.com
