About that USNI ballot ...

First thing - if you aren't a member of the U.S. Naval Institute; sign up or shut up.

Second, if you are a member, look for the ballot. There might be someone you know on it.

Vote early; vote often.

I joined USNI once.  Then they sent me a nice letter telling me that I was no longer welcome since they had reconsidered their policy allowing us lowly enlisted folks.  I don't miss them.

Bad move/lack of vision on their part -- policy has long since been reversed.  As the membership site says today "Membership is open to all -- you don't have to be a naval officer to belong." Strongy recommend giving membership another chance.

Chuck, I think that policy was reversed in the 70's.

Alo, I don't think that was a reversal of policy. It was the original policy later reversed.

Who might that be?

What's with ghetto-izing all the Marines into the Editorial Board (or did I miss them on the Institute board slate?)

Maybe they need some mentors or quotas or something?

(just kidding about that last part!)
