Is tomorrow already going to be Thursday?

Ungh. You know I don't like doing DivThu. After last week's comments brought out the worst from the AutoRant Moonbat Machine and the Progressive Truth Generator - I don't know if I can do it again.

Oh come on, Sal. Tangents Happen. Sorry for asking about the "Combat Tour" thing. It was a legitimate question. The moonbats came out. Whatever. It's not just thursday that we see moonbats--we see them a lot of times on LCS, Obama and GWB postings.

No offense, but those two should have been shut the hell up. Discussion is one thing; disagreement is another. What came from those two fine people was a blast of crap about the brainwashed members of the Front Porch every time they opened their yaps.

I recommend just putting some good ole Richard Pryor or Eddy Murphy on instead...

Bingo. You have a duty. To the porch, to the Navy, nay, to all mankind. And womankind. And transgenderkind.

Besides, having the moonbat contingent is like shooting fish in a barrel.

One ping only.

Sal - best for an in person discussion when next we meet, but "you reap what you sow" and "you are known by the company you keep" come to mind whenever I think of the Front Porch.

DeltaBravo said...

You again? You reappear out of nowhere to do what? Insult us?

Seems you came in name calling too and were surprised people didn't jump up and hug you.

Oh, that Moonbat Machine thingie is all kinds of fun!!!!

I typed in an innocent declarative statement:
It is too dry here in Texas.

And it produced:
Texas, indeed! It's like 1955 all over again!? Power to the Democrats!

Well, yes, I reckon the drought of 1955 was an epic drought. But this one is more epic.

Maybe the Democrats used it to seize more power or something. I wasn't here then. I wouldn't know.

(gonna run back and type in "Don't sleep with the help" and see what it comes up with.) ta-ta!

I put Sal into the Progressive Truth Generator and it said, "Sal, you are a fascist white cracker because you don't believe in socialized medicine." :) Well, it got a couple of points correct. ;)

Such bad company here. Then again, it could be worse, we could be in DC. They drained the swamp, but left the snakes.

DeltaBravo said...

You're horrible company, LtB. The whole lot of you, matter of fact! Shoo!
:-D

Only the wearer knows how the shoe fits. If you took insult from my comment I recommend some introspection (which is what you recommended to me, and said advice I took).

Sal bemoaned what happened last week. I gave him two quotes on why I think he gets these fur balls. That's all. You can read into it all you want. Doesn't make it what I meant.

Yawn...pitching slowballs today, Ana?

Ana,

1. This is a blog - everyone is free to comment here within very broad guidelines. The Front Porch is an ever moving tgt and generally has Byron, Sid, LtB, MTH, DB, URR, AR, E40, Andrew, SG, OMC, AW1, Lee, Mary, SJS, Ken, SAP, NAP, YNSN, C-14, (I know I am missing a few, sorry – and there is a whole new batch over on FB and Twitter) and even some now-and-thens like you taking up a chair & grab’n a beverage of choice. There is an even larger universe of lurkers who email me on a regular basis with comments, hints, and observations that are just amazing and wind up on the blog every week. They are in positions such that they don’t even want their initials in a Hat Tip. They just want it out there. I know who they are, and their support from their positions … well … makes me feel that we’re doing something good here.

All who come here via the Front Porch or on the down-low are equally loved and welcome. Some personalities are flinty, some fun, some a bit of the comment-bully type, some snide, some wise, some snarky, some flirty, some need fiber, others are exceptionally knowledgeable, most are just a pleasure to see every day or so and add to the colorful mosiac that this salon has become over the years. It is what it is, and I am happy as without them our numbers would not increase year after year - not bad for a single author blog like this which is just a hobby.

If I decided to "image manage" the blog & the "company I keep" here on the front porch to better meet someone elses idea of what is correct - then what does CDRS become? Something different, but not CDRS.

This blog has never been about anything other than what it was in 2004 when it started. Read the first post - it still applies. I'm not in this for anything but what it is. If some people don't like me for things I say, the topics I raise, or those who stop by the front porch to have a beer and chat now and then - then that is fine. I am quite happy - and blessed - with this small gathering of acquaintances and friends. Sometimes they scrap a bit more than they should - but that's OK, it is what free people do.

Ana,

Thank you for lending your clear moral and intellectual superiority to we, the unwashed and ill-educated of Sal's front porch. I cannot begin to express the depths of gratitude that you would not only deign to make an appearance, but also be thoughtful enough to offer what is probably life-altering advice. I haven't the words....

How 'bout that, Sal? That nice enough?

URR,
Whatever. Just pay the bar tab, will'ya? ;)

CDR, it's painful to read your Diversity postings. It must be excrutiating to write them. But the Diversity Bullies thrive while they scuttle around in the shadows. Very few Americans support the kind of policies that they institute everywhere. When you drag them into the sunlight, you have an impact. So I hope you'll keep it up.

cdrsalamander said...

Kristen,
Thanks. And .... it is good to see you in comments again. I thought I was in the dog house again .... I know .... it happens alot. O:-)

Anathema said...

Sal, I'll read it again...but at first blush your response is in line with our previous conversations, and I don't have a problem with that. I've rarely had a problem with what you write. I enjoy Diversity Thursdays for the hypocrisy you bring out and lay bare - as we have discussed here and IRL. But, look at the response my two comments of exceedingly vague and imprecise bait brought on: Aneurysm, "you again", "throwing softballs", URR's condescension...none - not one - chose to discuss the perception of their activities here or how they treat those who disagree with them. Sure, the front porch has all those personalities you listed, but the core of them, frankly, are bullies who brook no disagreement and would rather shout louder than clearer and more profane or insulting than logically or rationally.

I saw the way those two guys were treated last week - and saw your lament of the coming post tomorrow - and chose to dip my toe back in to (1) provide my thought on why you get the furballs, and (2) bait the usual suspects and see if they took it. They did. Sadly. Because this was my last time here. Not because I can't handle it - the idiocy, the abuse, the illogic, the condescension...but because I have limited time, limited bandwidth, and if I must choose, then I will to be somewhere that I can argue, discuss, converse and not be insulted by the drunk at the bar who will just yell louder and louder.

It's a shame, too. Because you have important things to discuss. This is a good place that you built. But those who dominate the commentary here aren't interested in opposing viewpoints. No matter how they may protest to the contrary. And if you are OK with that, then you also have to accept that this dynamic will drive people away.

Sigh, well, if anyone wants me, I'll be at Home Depot, buying more soap for the pressure washer. Maybe I will look at the price of a resin sealant for the porch decking. DB's stompng on trolls makes such a mess.

I will send up a pallet of assorted brews on the beer elevator before I go.

UltimaRatioRegis said...

Well, ana, if you think I am condescending, then I will recommend some introspection.

But then again, who am I to offer advice to those morally and intellectually my betters such as yourself? After all, you were baiting us and we were foolish enough to fall for it. Too clever, you, by half.

Time for the hip-waders.

DeltaBravo said...

For what it's worth, Anathema, I thought of you last week with that last crowd of trolls and baiters. Funny you appeared this week. Not that I think you were part of that, but the MO was the same... like someone walking into a pub and their first sentence is "Everyone here is a moron" and then being outraged that discourse to follow is less than civil. It was exactly how you came on long ago in another thread. No, your two phrases and veiled insults were NOT "exceedingly vague and imprecise" to those who remember that long thread. Your two little bon mots here today were not lobbed in a vacuum. Again... many here have disagreements but they don't start it out with name calling. They stick to the facts of the argument. Again... funny all the other posts you ignored all these months and this one you show up for? That's why I said "you again." I personally think it's an attempt by trolls to derail the conversation from uncomfortable stuff. We really shouldn't feed the trolls. I'm very sorry you count yourself among them and choose to stand with them. You might have had something interesting or informative to say if you could have kept the name-calling and 'company you keep' references out of it. There's no nice way to take THAT phrase in the context you presented it. So go play with your fellow trolls.

Badger, DB's works are performance art, and high art at that.
We should take pictures of her spatter patterns on the deck, mount 'em
and sell them (framed, of course).

I love to watch that woman in action.
